hello all!!!!

Hey! I'm new and this place is already awsome! just wanted to introduce myself and well...ya!

any way I don't have a cat, but really am looking forward to getting one soon. I'm trying to find a good breeder or good rescue cat. I am really leaning towards getting a sphynx! I just love em! I've researched some and have looked for some breeders online, but alot of them look like BYB to me... anyway I just wanted to say hi and if anyone can help me then thanks a bunch!

How exciting thinking about getting a kitty ! Will this be your 1st ever then ?
The thought of a pedigree is a great idea, but as you know there are lots of cats & kittens in rescue homes that are just praying for someone like you to come along. All my cats are rescues and I love them to bits but also feel like I´ve done something to help out.The rescue places are great and give you loads of advice (not that a breeder wouldnt !) So have a visit and I am sure you fall in love with a kitty there well in truth - the kitty will pick you !

So enjoy the forums and do keep us all posted when you finally get your kitty. Once you have settled in (with the site & your kitty) maybe you could post some photos

Welcome and glad you could make it to the greatest site and forums!

As you can see, we are 9! rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered of course! felines, and our devoted servant. We hope you'll love it here and we know you can get all the pointers you need right here at TheCatSite...purrsonally, we hope you decide to adopt from a shelter or even the street. We all came from the street, except for Maryam and Suha, who came from right here in the desert! So many cats and kittens need loving homes -- and every cat is gorgeous and loving so -- won't you adopt someone who truly needs a loving home?

thanks for replying! I've had lots of cats before. When I was little we use to have kittens and cats, and we have even fostered. I think I want a sphynx because I've had mixes and I think all the cats we've ever had are ones that actully found us. don't get me wrong, I love em, but I just really want a sphynx.

You're wise to research carefully. There are excellent breeders out there who produce wonderful, healthy kittens. You're right, though, there are some who are less than honorable. The are a few sphynx owners here at TCS, and maybe they can nudge you in the right direction. You can also ask questions in the breeder forum as to what to look for in a quality breeder or rescue.

I can understand that. I once fell head-over-heels for an Aby kit I met at a cat show. But I didn't adopt him, because I knew he'd get adopted easily, and I've always been 100% committed to street cat rescue.
