How do you people do it???

You people with lots of cats that is....

Since we've been fostering Smudge (which makes 3 cats), I'm constantly going Stumpy!!! I mean Smudge!!! No... LILY!

I never get their names right anymore, it takes me a few goes to get the cat right, and if I'm telling a story about them, I end up ruining it because I get myself all confused....

How do you do it with more than 3 cats??

The same way I do with my skin kids.LOL!!!
I say "Am/De/......whatever your name is...come here!"
I have 5 cats now!

In a nut shell it's like this.....Swi...err...Raff...tut..erm...whats your name?...Tick....ahh...erm...Patch...no not you....I mean Meir!!!!...Meir come here!!

If I want them that bad,I just go and pick them up.

My MIL has a terrible time with her kids. One time she was upset with my husband, she ran through all of the his brothers' names (he had 3), then the dog's name, then his name. He was quite upset that she threw in the dog's name.

I tend to get Lucy and Carly confused. Usually when I'm trying to get them to do something.

I always call Buddy Bagheera and Bagheera Buddy. All the cats get called Kitten. And I accidently call Kitten Bagheera all the time. The only one I never mess up is Lily. And I hardly ever call her Lily. Her nickname is Wixy and thats what I call her almost all the time.

My fur kids are all female and yes I sometimes call them all three names before I get it right.... LMAO one day I called my Zoey melody my betta s name

I have 2 cats and I sometimes say the wrong name and when do Chynna glares at me and if I'm holding her when I do it, that's it! She insists on getting down, LOL

since I have 4 dogs and 2 cats sometimes I call my dogs my cats' names and my cats the dogs' names. It's so funny..it can get confusing if you have more than 3 pets.

Well that's why I named the 3 girls Ziiggy, Zazzy, and Zinger I figured if I said all 3 names didnt matter who got there first, sometimes I start and get confued though to Dunkin, miniman, sissy, mickey, cammie, and the 3 Zs, but If I want someone in peticular they know there names, its just when I get tongue tied its a mess Sometimes I just go Look what I've got and it sounds like a heard of buffalo that they know really well

I just call my girls 'Moodles.'

I'm okay with the names, it's hard with them looking alike though if someones doing something naughty. They are colour coded but it's not always easy to see the collar or tag, in that case they are called "Hey whatta you doing?"

At the moment I have 9 cats but two are fosters and one is stuck somewhere between foster and perminent resident.

I don't always mix up names when I talk about them suprisingly, at least not as often as I would think. It always seems that I am mixing up the same two or three though. When Kinks jumps up on the counter I yell "PWNE!" and Pwne looks at me like what did I do? Or Pwne will do this pitiful evil viscious cat act around the foster cats and I will yell "KINKS!" And Kinks is nowhere even around.

I always get the names mixed up. First it was obvious WHY, when I had a Buffy and a Willow (big BtVS fan here, lol). Then I added a Molly and I swear it got worse. At the moment, all is well, nobody in the family has made any mistakes for a while (unless, of course, for me, when I use the nicknames Meemy, Muffy, Molly, Malloy, etc... Understand what I mean? lol). The worst times, IMO, is when I call my dog (who's name is JAKE, by the way, nothing like that cats' names) Buffy or Molly or Willow. How insulting to such a "masculine, alpha" dog, lol

I dont get my cats mixed up because Teufel is called Gatto at home, and he sounds totally different from Kaylee!

When i had 21 cats though i used to forget their names!!

I don't get names mixed up because I call them ALL "baby". Although 4 of them are almost the exact same color and size, they are all so totally different in cattitudes that it's hard to mix them up! The only ones I do mix up is Reecie and Dodo if I see them from afar...
