Hello my name is Bianca! I need to introduce myself, and my family.

I have worked at an animal shelter for about a year and a half, and have become a sucker in the meantime.

I have a dog Halo, he is an border collie aussie mix. We think he might have actual collie in him due to his tail. We are not sure, but he is very handsome!

Then there is Frito, he came into the shelter weighing 12 oz. He was found in a dumpster. I was in love immediately, but he had to go into foster care. He was there for two months until he weighed enough for me to adopt him. He is such a devil! He is the red tabby in the picture. ( Stevie is coming up next )

Then Stevie came in, she came in with two littermates that were abandoned at a apartment complex. I was coming back from lunch when someone asked me "Did you see the blind kitten?" I had not so I went to go look. There she was, a month and a half old. She had eye pockets, but no eye balls. ( it looks like she is sleeping ) Then the question became "what would her quality of life be?" "can she use a litter box?" I did some research on the internet about blind cats, and decided I should foster her and her siblings. I quickly found out she could use a litter box, not one mistake. ( her brother and sister different story! lol ) When all of them weighed enough to be put up for adoption, I decided I could not let her go. I was worried that the novelty of her would wear off and she would just end up at a shelter someday again. Plus I loved her lots.

Then there is Georgio and Armani, they came into the shelter abandoned litter once again. I fostered them for a month and half till they could weigh enough to be put up for adoption. ( This is why I don't foster anymore..) I couldn't let them go. I loved them too!

Georgio is the medium hair red tabby and Armani is the brown tabby..

LAST! But oh so not least...There is Forest. Forest came into the shelter as an owner surrender. He had been surrendered once before because that is where is microchip trace back to. I was reading his impound and it said he was 8 months old, and thought they were crazy because he was soooo big. Forest was sent to a purebred cat rescue in Seattle ( they think he is maine coon, I don't know about that). However, I could not stop thinking about him. There was something about that Forest. I decided to track him down. It took me a whole month to adopt him. Finally I was chosen.
I have been enamored by this cat ever since! He makes life purfect.

That is all my friends. My house is full as you can see, there are no more vacancies here! But I love cats.

If you wonder how Halo the dog and the cats get along they do great! Halo is awesome with cats. He will chase them back into the house if they get out. He is very good at his job. They are his babies too. As you can see it's one big happy family.

All of your furbabies are so beautiful, but I have to say that Stevie has stolen my heart. She has such a beautiful face. I'm so glad that you were able to offer her a home and know that she wouldn't end up in a shelter

Mine too. I love having her because I think it is good for people to see a blind cat have a completely normal life. That just because they are disabled doesn't mean their quality of life diminshes. She is one of the most amazing cats I have ever seen! She can, and I have seen her catch flies in the air. She will chase those things around the house till she gets em'.

Okay! Here are some more of Stevie when she was younger.

She caught a bird! At least she thinks she did.

Leap of faith..This was when she really started learning to jump from high objects. It really scared me watching her do this the first time around, but she had to learn so I taught her. How did I teach her? When she was on top of the dining room table. ( don't worry folks there are two things in my house that are never used, the dining room table and the kitchen) Anyway, when she first figured out how to get on the dining room table, she couldn't figure out how to get down. This was a "leap of faith to her" however, I tapped my foot on the ground so it made noise. This is when she got depth perception.

This is just her sitting pretty. (is she sleeping? I don't know!

Frito is her best friend though. He follows her everywhere. And when she cries, he always comes running. To be honest, Frito loves her more than me. They have a very special bond.

Dear Bianca and Wonderful Family:

Welcome to TheCatSite and hope you enjoy it and the forums as much as we do!
We are 9! rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered of course! felines, from 2 to going-on-17 years of age, and we all came from our humble servant's old neighborhood or from up here in the Mojave. We want to THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for doing shelter work and for rescuing and adopting such sweet, beautiful and deserving cats! (and dog!) Your Maine Coon guy is definitely ALL MC, from what I can see -- my folks adopted a blue-cream MC guy who'd been re-homed at least twice, and until he went over the Bridge last year, he was their beloved boy! You can always tell by the facial features -- Maine Coons have a distinctive "wise" look that's indescribable, and your guy has it. Our servant has lived with, loved, rescued, and advoCATed for cats since she was born, and she always says she never met a cat she didn't love. Cat people, especially fosterers, rescuers, shelterers and sanctuarians, are her personal heroes, and she hopes they each get many rewards for their kindness -- of course, THEY all say they do, whenever they have cats loving them! and whenever they are able to save a life, heal a cat, and adopt a cat into a loving forever home.

Sure are glad you're here! Your CATS are gorgeous! (And Frito, too!)

Wow, what a gorgeous fur family! I'm so jealous! I can't get my two girls to get along, and all of yours seem to love each other...not fair!
