We just noticed our 4 year old cat Socks has quite a swollen cheek. Any suggestions would be appreciated

It really could be a number of things. Is there a puncture mark? Maybe a bite or scratch wound. It's possible that a bug bite could have done something similar. It's also possible there may be something going on inside the mouth. If it remains swollen, I think a trip to the vet would be in order.

Hi ,

We took Socks after all, and it turned out it was an infected bite from a cat fight. Se shaved it, cleaned it, and gave us anti-biotics. Thanks for the advice !

I am glad you found out what happened. Those cat bites and scratches can cause some real damage. Wishing Socks a speedy recovery!!
