My cat is a female, 9 years old. She has had a rumbly grumbly stomach for the past 2 weeks, and has been gassing alot. I changed her food during week one, and she seemed to be ok for a day or two, but it is now back to the same thing. She is a bit sluggish and wants to lay around alot, but not too bad. I will be taking her to the vet, but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before. Is there anything I can do for her in the mean time to help her. I know I can't give her Tums or Rolaids, but that is what her stomach sounds like it needs. I have heard something about giving her yogurt, but I dont know how I am going to make her eat it. She only likes dry cat food! Not even canned cat food!

I started having this promblem with my Dusty a few months ago. He turned 12 this April and has been with me for ten years and never had this problem. When I took him to my vet, we determined the probable cause to be a change in his diet. I hadn't change brands, just formulas and that did it. After several weeks of his horrifying, room clearing, gaseous anomolies, he adjusted to the new food. All was well until recently.

First Isis, then Chester were diagnosed with struvite crystals and FLUTD. With five cats in the house, three of them having expirienced FLUTD, my vet and I decided to just feed them all the prescription diet, at least for now. Dusty has once again become "fragrant"

Yeah, my cat has the same problem too. I did some research on it and changed her to walmart brand(Maxximum) kitten food and it got rid of all her gas. It was especially great because it is really inexpensive! It can't hurt to try it with your kitty.
