A girl who was in my town last summer told a guy friend of mine that she liked to call her and ask her to dinner. She just said that, right to him. And it worked. He called her and they went out on a couple dates, but she is in school in another state, so they ended up deciding it wouldn't work. He still likes her, though.

I asked my husband out first! We've been married eleven very happy years now. He told me it was refreshing because guys get rejected so often and it was great that a woman took the risk for once.

I don't have any problem going after what I want, though.

Okay, so I am going to ask him out tomorrow, but very casually. I am going to say something like..."So, are you a super busy guy, or would you have time to grab a coffee with me sometime?"

I know he is really busy as he plays all kinds of sports like everyday..so, do you think this sounds okay?

I am freaking so nervous, this guy seems perfect for me and I barely think about anything but him..I really don't want to screw this up.

PLEASE WISH ME LUCK!!!

Aw, thanks Pami...it probably doesn't help that I'm all sweaty and nasty looking everytime he sees me (at the gym)
Hopefully he can see past all the sweat.

You don't want to be less vague? How about, "Hey, let's go grab a coffee, my treat."

In any case, I'm SURE he'll be pleased to be asked! If he can't make it right then, he knows you are interested and the ball's in his court.

Woot!
Ask him..For sure. It totally shows you've got guts, and guys like never get the hint that the girl is actually interested in him, so you gotta like shove yourself in his face, and by asking him for coffee or something, totally should rock his boat.

I've personally never had luck with asking a guy out. They always get freaked out from such a forward move. BUT, I've heard plenty of stories where it works! So, it's a catch 22 either way!

I agree. Just ask the lad, don't worry too much about hedging around the question: he'll be flattered anyway.

I figure if I am a little vague, it would give him an easy out in case he isn't interested...I just can't imagine if I said..."let's go out"...and then he be like..."um no"..

I know he's really busy too, so he is never available after gym time, he always goes to hockey or something..So, I figure I would see if he's available Sunday or something..

Guys, I am SO NERVOUS. I don't ever remember feeling this way about a guy before...I feel like screaming!!!

its ok, the worse that can happen is he says no.
dont worry, it gets more easy to ask people out after the first 1,000 times you do it

anyway, vague is not good, Just say something , like care to join me for a drink(coffee, beer, pop etc)

But I think I would give up after the first No

Just go for it....you have nothing to lose, even if he says no he's probably too wrapped up in his sport(hormones 'n' things
) when he gets older he will realise all the real chances of happiness he lost and you will be happy with someone else by then.
But he won't know if you don't ask

theimp98 is giving you a male perspective... and I'll add if you are vague it sounds like you're fishing for him to ask you out. Go ahead and take the plunge and be direct. He might end up cancelling his other plans.

p.s. You have to let us know what happens!

Aaaaaaaw, thanks for all the vibes everyone..I am so hoping it works...I should be home from the gym around 7pm my time, so I'll update you guys then....I will either be so sad and need lots of hugs..or so happy and then I will have these
all over the place.

So, more direct...something like "Are you busy on Sunday?...do you want to go for a coffee or something?"

Something specific like that?

Now Lady, stop thinking about what to say, it´ll make you more nervous !

Forget about it - keep busy and it´ll soon come round. It will be real simple

You´ll ask him, he´ll say YES

and then he whole of TCS will just jump for joy
