I can't believe I forgot to mention this
but Little Ma has been released and her family is thrilled to have her back home. They're actually able to touch her and are considering bringing her and a tame male (already fixed) that they feed into the house for the winter.

Her babies are cute, cute, cute!
Mickey (the gray/white one) has completely amazed me by turning out to be a little lovebug already. I was holding him this morning and he crawled up inside my sweatshirt and just purred away.

I'm going to give Monty (orange) a little more time before I try handling him again. I was able to get him to play with a feather toy for a bit this morning and there a was a little less hissing and growling.
He also came out the box to eat and use the litterbox while I was in their room, so he's at least getting a little more comfortable in my presence.

I saw their pictures and am now weak with cuteness.

Awwwwww, what precious babies.

I just got off the phone with the woman who lives next door to the abandoned house where we trapped Monty and Mickey. She said there's been people in and out of the house yesterday and today - the owner and an appraiser, she thinks. Good thing we got the babies out when we did!

Still no sign of another kitten. I'm beginning to agree with the neighbors that it was the little tortie from down the street that they saw. Hopefully, with Little Ma now back at the site, she'll draw the third kitten out if there is one. Don't worry, I won't give up. If there's a tortie baby, we'll get her eventually!

I just have to say how much fun it is to have these little guys around! It's official - Mickey has decided that humans get the stamp of approval and that laps are a wonderful thing!

Made some real progress with Monty last night. We spent a long time playing with the feather and he loved it! With him so distracted, I was able to sneak in a couple of quick pets and scritches, including around his ears. He loved that too, until he realized it was me touching him instead of the feather. Then, I got a hiss!
I have no doubt, given some time and patience, that Monty will decide humans are okay too!

Good. My donation should be there today, so I hope that helps pay for one or two of them at least!
How I wish I could adopt them all!

I can hardly begin to comprehend the number of unwanted kittens you have prevented from being brought into this world

Awww, thanks guys!
Your vibes, prayers and support played a big role in ensuring these babies are safe.

Even with Little Ma back at the site, there's been no more sightings of the "mystery kitty," but the neighbors are continuing to feed and keep an eye out and will let me know if they spot a tortie. I'm tied up with work related responsibilities for the next two weekends, but will try trapping again after that.

Little Monty is continuing to make progress.
I was able to pet him last night without the benefit of the feather. He loves having his ears scratched. He's still not quite sure of me and startles easily, so we'll just continue to take things at his pace.

Mickey, meanwhile, is one wild and crazy kitten!
I've been keeping the little guys in a playpen in order to handle them better, but let Mickey out last night for some supervised play. He's one confident and happy baby! He ran around the room nonstop for well over an hour, checking everything out and have a great time. When Monty's a little more sure of himself, I'll let him out too and eventually do away with the playpen.

That's it for now. Thanks!

i have just read all this thread, and good on you Eileen for doing so much for these cats, it is wonderful to know that Little Ma wont be having any more babies, and that some of her babies will never get that chance.

Guess who purred for me this morning and decided he loves being scratched under the chin - vicious little Monty!
What a little dollbaby!
That sweet sound made my day.

Not much new to report on Mickey, other than he is totally crazy and tons of fun!
