My cat happened to get underseal(bituman) on her fur on her back leg, tried washing it off but its water proof. Can anyone suggest anything. The jar the underseal comes in says its only poisonous to fish, but we dont want to take the chance. we have tried shaving it off, and using washing up liquid. Need help quick please

You might try using really small scissors (like manicure or thread nippers) to cut her fur. Shaving would probably just gunk up the razor. Pull her hair as far from her leg as you can & snip very carefully.

I know it's like a tarey substance like a sealer, but I don't have any idea how you can get it off, hopefully someone will be able to help you..The only thing I could think of is something oily like baby oil and try to comb it through the hair, it's slippery and maybe something oily would help loosen it, but I am not really sure just a guess

we tried with scissors, but she is a short haired cat and she was getting a bit stressed at this point. we have tried using a hand cleaner for stuff like that, but we had to put her in the sink, which she didnt like. its a nightmare
