I have a year old black and white female cat, named Molly, who weighs a ton. I am not sure about her exact weight, but I know she weighs at least 13lbs, probably more. she has continually gained weight. I have changed her food to an indoor formula, and tried to get her to excersise a little more (which is difficult), with no luck. I have no idea as to how I can get her to loose weight.

Ration her food. Do not free feed, even if she complains.

Get a toy on a string (Da Bird is good) and play with her a lot.

No free feeding, measure her food and feed her twice a day.

If she'll eat wet, feed her wet food. It's better for the urinary tract and it'll help her lose weight because she won't be taking in a ton of carbs.

Thanks for the help. She hasn't seen a vet since she got fixed, there's no mistaking her being heavy.

The vet can give you better advice on how to get her weight down--he/she can help you figure out what will work best for your cat.
