Alternatives to e-collar

Lucy had shunt put in because of an infection in her suture from her bladder surgery. I have found out that I have a little Houdini and we can't keep the e-collar on.

Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative? It can't be tight because of her shunt and it is in her lower abdomen.

I think Beckiboo has used a tube sock by cutting out the toe and slipping it on the kitty. It's not really tight, but they can't get at the wound OR wriggle out of it.
