Heyy all i'm pretty new here this is my first post besides my one that says hi.

In it i said i have two cats... well now i have three. A dark and light grey stray (definately a tom!!!) i call Smoky. In our neighborhood there are about a million ferals and a few stays. Smoky's sooo sweet, but my dad wont let us keep him because we have two cats already right now.
Well i think he'll change his mind because Smoky's so nice. Nevertheless i'm feeding him and provided him with a bed he sleeps in. I'm hoping that he doesn't have feline lukemia or distemper (im pretty sure he doesn't) cause he could srpead it to my other cats and stuff even if he isn't allowed in my house. Anyone else try to take care of the more unfortunate cats in thier neighborhood??

Ps It looks like Smoky's whiskers have been cut!!! Theyre not even the lenghth of his face!!

Welcome to TCS....the ONLY way to ensure that this cat does not have any diseases is to take him to the vet. He really should go to the vet because he needs to be neutered if he is intact. I appreciate that you are feeding him...but unfortunately, without a plan to spay/neuter....other intact cats will find their way to your home and then you will end up with more cats to feed as they breed. The best way to help these cats is to hook into a TNR group and get these cats trapped, spayed/neutered and then determine whether they can be adopted or need to be returned back outdoors.

Below is a list of groups in MO that work with ferals/strays:

There is also good information here:

and here:

Good luck...

Katie
