Hi all,

My darling baby Lucy was run over this morning, and was killed instantly.

We took her to the vet to be cremated.

Whoever did this, didnt care enough to stop, and help her. It was right outside my home.

Ive cried for 6 hours non stop.

Goodbye my angel, at peace in heaven, our rock, our true friend.

Lucy ~ RIP 4th August 2001 ~ 7th August 2002

Oh, Neesy, my heart aches for you. This happened to my Pixie a few years ago. It is heartbreaking to think that the driver killed a loving animal and didn't stop. He was probably speeding and afraid he'd be prosecuted. Cats are so fast. This is so close to my own heart that it's hard for me to say the right thing. The pain doesn't go away, but it isn't constant any more. There will be a warm feeling in your heart every time you think of Lucy, even though you will still shed a tear for her. Of course I believe that heaven must welcome God's little creatures, because there is perfect happiness there, and our pets bring so much joy. God bless you and dry your tears.

Denise - what a terrible thing to happen.

I'm so awfully sorry to hear this. I'm crying already! I get so upset when things like this happen because I immediately put myself in your place, and my kitties in the place of your darling Lucy to be able to try and understand a little of what you're going through.

I feel for you and especially your kids in this as there are no real words of consolation that can be offered.

My thoughts are with you all - I pray that your heart mends soon.

BTW - Jeanie, in the UK you are not legally obliged to report the hitting of a cat, only a dog. So the person either didn't realise, or was too upset themselves to stop. I got very upset when I hit a pidgeon - and I hate birds!

Up until Friday, we still had her son Oscar with us. He had to go because Lucy couldnt cope with him, and had become depressed. From Friday, until yesterday she was a different cat, playful and loved her hugs again, and was my 'baby padder' again.

We are now catless. Id like another, but I need my heart to heal, before I can even think of replacing my girl.

She was so special.

Thanks for all your kind words.

Tonight we are planting a flower in her memory.

What a tragic thing to happen! My heart goes out to you in dealing with this loss. Lucy was a very special cat, and she knew how much you love her. She is watching over you from the Rainbow Bridge, and will wait patiently for you there.

You will know when the time is right to bring another cat into your life. Nothing can ever replace Lucy, but perhaps it can help fill the void in your heart that she left.

I'm so sorry....

Oh Neesey ~ I am so very sorry for your sudden loss of Lucy. I hope that as days pass you find comfort in knowing how much she loved you. Lucy will always be in your heart.

It is not much consolation, but because she died instantly, she did not suffer.
Please let us know how you are managing as time passes.
You are in my thoughts....

Neesey...I am so sorry for your tragic loss.

We lost our dog Snoopy in the same way. He was hit by a car that did not stop either. And it happened right in front of our home. People just don't think sometimes and react in ways we can not begin to understand.

Prayers and thoughts go out to you.
