Ok so I think I'm a pretty good cook but I have a question!

When you're making home-made waffles, what is the oil for? Is it just to keep the waffle from burning/sticking? Or does it serve some other purpose?

If it is just for that... could you eliminate it and just use cooking spray?

I'm doing Weight Watchers & the ones from the box are about 1 point but the home-made ones are just way up there!!!
So I'm trying to health-ify them
I am figuring that's where the majority of the points come from...

They're so dang tasty!

I'm no cook Sarah, so sorry I can't help, but I have found out that WW foods really are great. They're to me just portion controlled!

Using egg whites instead of whole eggs will make them healtheir and lighter and crisp.

Dont know about the oil.

Last night we went grocery shopping & I got a TON of food to munch on and for my lunches- basically things I can eat too

I grabbed a Smart Ones dessert- it's the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae
and a few of the dinners...

I also got some Weight Watchers ice cream- the sundae cups & the toffee crunch bar or something like that.. I can't wait to eat them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, waffles are supposed to have more oil in the batter. It changes the texture and taste and also makes them cook better in the waffle irons. I watched a whole cooking show in them the other day.

If you're trying to cut back, just do pancakes instead. Or use one of the more healthy cooking oils that are out now. Canola is good. I like olive oil but it adds flavor and it would taste bad in waffles.
