I was leaving the gym going about 50kms, and this little grey tabby runs in front of my car!!! Thank the lord I was looking and not putting a cd in or something, I had to slam on my brakes.

There must be an angel with that kitty. I would have never forgiven myself if I hit him

That's when I can't stand seeing cats wandering outside. So many things could happen.

OMG how lucky!!! I found a hit kitty once, it was horrible. I was driving along and saw her lying on the road, and I knew if I swerved I would run over her, so had to make sure she went between my wheels.

I pulled over and went back to check on her and she was still alive!! She was growling when I went to close to her, and was obviously in pain. I had no idea what to do. I was standing in the middle of the road waving people down and they were just going around me

2 people walked by with their dog though, and one of them took off her jacket, wrapped the kitty up in it and picked her up and took her off the road. She was such a gorgeous looking Persian. She had a collar, so I rang the owners who were home luckily and only 2 doors away. They were soooo upset, and I felt horrible because I think they thought I hit her but was trying to deny it.

I rang up the people again the day after (their number was in my phone still), and asked after her, and apparently she had internal injuries and her leg was going to have to be amputated if she made it through. They sounded a bit hostile toward me rather than grateful for stopping for her, so I think they still blamed me, and I didn't have the heart to call them again to check on her...

Every time I drove past that area I got really upset when I thought about the poor beautiful kitty.

That is such a sad story
even if you had hit the kitty, they should have still been thankful for you for pulling over to help, most people wouldn't.
