My new breakfast fix

I've become addicted to these things...............



Best thing is they taste great, are fat free, and only have 60 calories a piece! That combined with my sugarfree, low cal jam makes for a yummy breakfast! Who invented these things anyway????

Oh no......I don't drink the tea with it just because I'm not a tea drinker, but I have a nice glass of cold OJ, and it's great!

I have never had a crumpet. i guess I will have to try them one day!

The only thing I can identify with is an English Muffin (called fork bread by the Brits IIRC)

I've heard of crumpets but I can't say I've ever seen it in the grocerry store.

I have never seen those!!! Are they airy or heavy?

Their very light Helen, and you just toast them so their a little crispy, then spread either jam, butter, honey, peanut butter etc...on the topand it melts right through the small holes


I wish you all lived closer so i could mail you some to try.

Gail i think there was a recipe in the first link i put up?.

I havent eaten crumpets ever since i left australia
I might make a batch from that recipe susan, and keep it in the fridge to eat over several days!

Yes I saw the recipe but I need US measures so I ran down and checked my King Arthur Flour cookbook which does have a recipe. I must check to see if I have any yeast!!!

Hmmm, I'm hoping that they convert the Tops in Medina to a GE, in the paper it said they did buy one in Medina county
I'll have to ckeck them out, they might be better than pop-tarts, lower in fat and calories at least
