alright, im a noob at this. so please care with me.

i have a cat, around.. uh.. a year old and she is pregnant.

i caught her "in the act" at around Aug. 28. and about 2 weeks later started noticing her tummy becoming slightly bigger and her nipples becoming bigger also. u know the usual pregnant stuff.

well just a couple of hours ago, i heard her in my dining room i guess u could say "nesting" in a box. so i put some newspaper w/o the print in it, and she started doing the same thing again..

i moved it into my bedroom closet, because the dinning room is where everyone goes thru, my closet is dark warm and quiet, i moved her food bowl, and her litter box in there also, and she started digging at the box again..

but here is my thing, i think i have the hole birthing thing under control, its just that i have read that most cats give birth at around 9 weeks.. and this is only around her 6th week...

do i have something to be worried about? or am i just being foolishly paranoid??? please someone help me!

firstly welcome to TCS. You most certainly have come to the right place as there are many experienced members who will be able to help you through all this. Alas, I am not one of them
Hopefully someone will be along shortly who will be able to give you some advise

my first question though is have you spoken to your vet? She probably is just getting herself prepared. I believe this can begin weeks before they give birth

She's probably just preparing her nest, Missy did that for a few weeks.

Maybe she also mated earlier. Be sure to keep her inside and away from males until she can get spayed after the babies wean. They can get preggers again real quick after delivery!

alright. for the first post. im guessin by a admin, no i have not taken her to the vet. I did call the vet, and called our friendly petco services, and they both told me to just let her be, which makes me upset because i feel a great need to help her. that could also be just me.

but i am hoping like you all said that she is just getting ready, now i did move her box away from the original spot, to my closet, because i have a 5 year old w/ me that just loves to mess with everything, then another kitten to top it all off.. is there anything else i need to do to make all this easier on her?

Make sure that she is kept strictly indoors and away from any intact males until she has weaned her kittens and has been spayed.
