that you think means "I love you"?

(I'm feeling mushy today)

Harriet sleeps right above my head and the instant an eye opens, she turns on the purr box to full blast and meows like crazy when you pet her first thing.

When I brought her home the first day, she did nothing but purr on the bed and beg for pets. I think it was her way of saying "thank you"

Soo... what interesting things does your kitty do?

Ginger is such a people cat in general, and she has really become very attached to me over hubby (which is OK because our other little girl is VERY attached to him, so this means less competition between the girls). She likes to rub.
That smilie was made for Ginger! She's so sweet about it, though. She particularly likes to rub on faces and noses. And when I'm sitting on the computer, she will jump up on the back of the chair, put her front end on my shoulder and lean her face into mine.

Trent is a snuggly boy. He loves his snuggles! When I'm watching TV he will come and ask to be cradled like a baby, and have me rub his tummy, until he gets so relaxed that he falls asleep like that.
He also gives us kisses by just holding his little mouth up to ours.
And it's really for kisses, because he isn't sniffing or anything. Just holding the kiss with his eyes closed like he's seen Mommy and Daddy do to him.

Ophelia is very different. She doesn't like getting very close to faces, except for Daddy (she gives him little licks during their love-fests). But she prances when she's enjoying her pets, and it's like she's doing a little happy dance.

All of my kitties do the thing that to me is the biggest "I Love You" they could do. No matter where they are or what they are doing, when I call their name, they come running to me. Its so sweet and always makes me feel so grateful

I just found out that Lily stays by my side (like glue!) when I'm sick.

My sweet Wilde used to do this. In the middle of one night, when I was home after a difficult surgery, she followed me to the bathroom (it took me probably five minutes to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom). She waited while I peed and walked me back to bed. I was on some heavy-duty painkillers and other medications, and I fell back asleep wondering why she did that - she had never done THAT before. Then I had a dream where she was wearing a nurse hat and I finally got it: she was my kitty-nurse! She was taking care of me! I sure miss her.

Cheers, from

Lily is a scaredy cat, and her comfort zone is on our bed. When she's on our bed, she feels safe and becomes Miss Snuggle Bug, which makes me happy knowing that's her happy place. She also LOVES snuggling in the mornings when I first wake up. She practically throws herself against my face in happiness, and just snuggles as close as she can to me, which is so sweet for such a fraidy cat

Stumpy isn't affectionate, but is always the first one to greet us when we come home - she races to the door, and as soon as I say hello to her she purrs and purrs and purrs and rolls over so I can rub her belly, which is her way of saying "it's nice to see you"

And the thing that makes me knows they love us, is that they follow us everywhere. If we're downstairs, they're sleeping/playing near us. If we have dinner in the dining room, they sleep/play near us. As soon as we go upstairs, they're up there as well. It's very sweet

And little Smudge's thing is just a complete lover of a kitten, and just smooches on us constantly. She loves to snuggle up to DH (who is her favourite), and just gaze up at him, and he thinks it's wonderful.

Tegato- Jumps on my lap and lays down on me, headbutts, kneads me and cleans me. Tegato kisses my hubby goodnight.

Claude- takes showers. Claude is my hubby's puppy. He follows my hubby around and greets by meowing at him every night when he comes home from work.

Pearl, my shy baby, has decided that I am worthy to give her tummy rubs. I went into my bedroom last night and she was lying in my spot on the bed, on her back with all 4 paws and her tail straight up. It looked so funny! I went over to make sure she was ok, and she grabbed my hand with her paws, put it on het tummy, and started purring. I started rubbing her tummy, and she went into purr overdrive, started licking my hand, and stretched her paws way out. She has slept on my pillow for the last 2 nights and groomed my head. We are making a little more progress. She is 6 years old and I hope she is deciding to be a regular cat. She even hangs around when the others are on the bed now. It is still so cool when we make a little progress with her.

Isn't it so wonderful when a shy cat relaxes enough to trust you enough to love on it
I wondered when we first got Lily if she was the right cat because she seemed so scared of us, but I know now that she got the right forever home

Peanut brings us laundry. Does that count? I'm pretty sure it's a "gift" she thinks she's bringing us. Usually we wake up to a pair of socks or underwear at our door in the morning. Occasionally it's a shirt or pair of pants. She's so cute! I know it must be an "I love you" gift!

Velvet is definitely my kitty, she claims nobody else and wants nothing to do with anyones else (except for my mom). She is my little shadow- she follows me everywhere and comes when I call her name. She's my little side kick and is such a mommy's girl- she's such a sweet baby!

Abilene- she's usually a little sassy pants...but she can always tell when i'm sad or sick...and if she even sense it, she becomes all cuddly and will give me kisses and head butts- its soo sweet! especially when she normally isn't that lovey. I love that about her! She always knows when meowmy needs a little love.

Jasmine- oh goodness- what's not to love about her! lol...she's always a sweetie pie and is always affectionate and shows everyone lots of love and attention. She has converted many people into cat people! hehe! she's every cat person's dream!

Isabella- I recused her as a tiny kitten from a horrid breeder situation. She was soo abused and traumatized that she was skiddish and petrified of everything. It took me almost a month just to get her to come to the front of her cage- but once she began to trust me, she only trusted me.(she had major surgery after a bad vet messed up her spay) We have a very special bond- she knows that I will never do anything to hurt her and i'm the only human (aside from my mom) that she trusts. Considering her past, that means a lot. She is such a beautiful kitty and such a special one at that. When she wants attention from me..she will get right in front of me, "scream" at me lol...and demand to be brushed and petted lol
she's a princess, what can i say

Rebecca, that brought tears to my eyes.
Pearl is such a special girl, and so is her Meowmy. Every time there is a leap of faith and love like that with a kitty with a history like Pearl's, it is such a gift.

Yep same!! I always had cats who loved attention, and so expected a cat who would love attention. And I never would have understood how much of a breakthrough something like would have been before I had Lily. And she's a young kitty who we've had since 3 months old. I can imagine with an older kitty it's even more of a breakthrough.

That is something very special

Chynna:

1) She taps me on the leg to tell me that she wants "up". When I pick her up she starts to purr and push her head into my hand while at the same time trying to find a comfy way to lay across my chest up high by my face. And she gives me "nose kisses".

2) She comes and settles on the pillow next to me and touches my face with her paw and gives me more nose kisses, hehe And when I rub her chin, she puts her head on my hand and her head by my head and purrs and purrs while she and I both fall asleep.

Abby:

1) She lays next to me in bed and purrs while I pet her.

2) She will jump up on me when she is feeling exceptionally snuggly and purr and drool and get that mushy "I love you" look on her face while she pushes the front of her head against my lips and chin.

Well the first loving thing Wonton ever did (tho he was really friendly when I picked him up and took him home) was that first night at my apt. We hadn't expected to find a kitty, so I had no litter box, no food bowls ect. i layed down some newspaper for him to go to the bathroom on (thankfully he got the idea), and fed him - he wolfed down his food. While he was eating i sat down crosslegged on my bed to rest for a minute and think about what I was going to do with this stray I'd found. The plan had been to take him to a no-kill shelter the next day. But...

He finished eating, and hopped up on the bed. He came immediately to my lap, hopped onto it, curled up, and went to sleep, purring like a freight train the whole way. I sat there and stroked his silky fur, and knew there was no way I was taking him to any shelter. It just seemed obvious that he belonged to me

One of the best things about him is he has continued to be a lap cat. He loves being in my lap, and if I'm at the puter he'll tap my leg, then i grab a small cushion and put it on my lap, and he'll hop up and go to sleep
he loves to curl up next to me while I'm in bed, too.. He almost always sleeps next to me at night.

The cutest thing though, is if I've been away all day, when I come in, he'll be so happy to see me that he gets up on his hind legs, front paws resting on my leg, as if to say "i want up mommy!". if i reach down with both hands he practically leaps into my arms, so i can reach down and pick him up as if i was picking up a toddler :p he then head buts my face and purrrrs his little heart out
It just feels wonderful knowing I'm loved and missed by him.

The other thing he does is come cuddle with me if I'm sad. He somehow just seems to always know.

Lily reaches out with her paw every morning when she see's I'm awake and touches my face with a very sweet look on her face purring like crazy.

Annie head butts and purrs like mad.

Kitten will come over and meow. Then head butt and just be a sweet girl. Until you try and hold her then she's gone in 2 seconds.

Bagheera pretty much everything he does. He will follow me around, meow softly when he wakes up and sees me there, he will wash me like crazy ummm he does alot of things.

When I'm in the kitchen getting dinner ready, Spike will run up to me, stretch up until his front paws reach the pockets of my jeans, and tug -- this is his way of begging to be picked up (he'll sometimes meow a little while he's doing it). I'll pick him up and hold him in one arm on my hip, the way you would a human baby, and then we'll dance together. He purrs like mad the whole time.

Oz forcibly grooms us (and Spike). He'll pin us down with his paws and begin licking whatever he happened to grab hold of: our hands, our feet, our heads ...
If we try to pull away, he digs his claws in very slightly and gives us a stern look as if to say "I'm not done yet!"

Both our cats are extremely affectionate, and when my boyfriend and I sit on the futon together to watch TV, Spike and Oz will both come and sit on our laps, so we each have a kitty. Sometimes Spike will come sit between us, and Oz will climb up on the back of the futon and sit behind our heads (he moves back and forth from my boyfriend to me, sits down for a bit, then gets up and moves to the other person). Both cats are happiest when my boyfriend and I are in the same room together (which is often, as there really aren't many rooms in our apartment), and if we're both sitting on the futon or the bed together, so much the better. Sometimes on the weekends we'll all take naps together in the bedroom, and every night there are two humans and two cats sleeping on the bed.

Radar is a very affectionate little cat when he is worn out from all the havoc and destruction that seems to follow in his wake. I work afternoons, and we have a regular cuddle time every day before I leave the house, where he will snuggle up right under my chin. He doesn't just give a cursory headbut, he smooshes his face into mine and rubs it around, purring and dribbling. He sometimes rests his little cheek against mine and goes to sleep. Other times he will push his head into my hand and let me rub his fur every which way, or lean his head right back so that I can stroke his chest, throat and chin.

The other thing that is so sweet is that I only have to glance vaguely in his direction and he will start purring. He's a wonderful little cat

When I say "Where's my baby?" no matter where she is, Katie comes running to her meowmy for some loving. We've been doing this since she was kitten and she's still my baby at 13.

I love how my little Gracie sleeps on my pillow at night wrapped around my head purring contentedly and how she gives me kitty kisses on my ear or nose on request.

I've got Peter trained now to come running like Katie does but with him it's "Where's my hunk?" He also has the habit when we're playing on the floor or first thing in the morning of lying next to, bracing his feet on my head and gently pulling my hair, purring loudly the hold time. Sounds strange, I know, but it's actually very sweet.

Claire has a way of just coming into a room, then sitting and staring at me and just purring away that lets me know she loves me. She also brings her "mousey" a ratty old cat-nip filled mouse, drops it at my feet and meows for attention and praise. I love how she's finally come to trust me.

Ginger greets me every single time I come home by either waiting at the front door for me, or comes running if she hears the door open and was caught napping.

She gives me morning "kisses" by licking me first thing in the morning when my alarm goes off. She used to lick my nose, but I managed to get her to accept my hand as a reasonable alternative. She's been doing this since the morning after I brought her home at 8 weeks old.

Ferris is still coming ino his own, still quite feral at times, and still very much a baby. He has picked up Ginger's habit of jumping up onto my bed every morning, but rather than kiss me, he comes for loves: petting and scritches, and purrs up a little morning storm for me.
