Should I keep trying to contact a breeder if they won't answer me? Or just assume they are very busy or not interested in replying...

Go elsewhere.... That is not a breeder I would buy from... If you have gone over a few days to a week with no answer...

How long has it been? What means of communication are you using?

E-mail can be sketchy at times with spam blockers. Perhaps a phone call or even a letter is in order.

Maybe the breeder went on vacation? This is a remote possibilty though...I'm not even sure what that word means anymore.

Do you have a cat from this breeder or are you trying to buy a cat from the breeder? I'm with the poster that says try another breeder. I've emailed about 6-7 Ocicat breeders. Only got replys from 4 of them.

I have a folder with the emails and contact info and what they've said so I can reference it later.

I'm sure there are other breeders you can contact if you are looking to buy. Move on if you don't get some kind of reply (positive or negative) in 2 weeks.

I've been contacting via email mostly because it's a long-distance phone call... Most of the other times I emailed them I got a reply almost instantly...this time it's been several days and no reply. Maybe I am being too impatient because I've gotten used to them replying so quickly? I'm mostly worried that I annoyed them or something!

Some breeders will reply and some wont without a referral. Have you gone to a cat show and talked to breeders there? What breed are you looking for?

Thanks for the advice guys! I got a reply this evening, it seems they had a new litter so they were busy and that's why they didn't reply!

I can say for myself sometimes i am just very very busy taking care of the cats. And as you found our your breeder had a new litter thats lots of work

And as someone mentioned sometimes email can be sketchy. One of my new kitty parents was having trouble getting my email back and forth for about two weeks now. had no problems before than either. But i kept at it, and they have their boys now
and are happy.
