This morning I ran up to the UPS store and to get a smoothie at a little cafe up the road from work. As I was pulled out onto the main road back to the office and was speeding up, I noticed a lizard trying desperately to hold on in the middle of my windshield! Poor guy! I immediately slowed way down to about 20mph so he wouldn't fly off, the traffic behind me had to be irritated
I could see my office park from where I was, so I thought it would be best to go there and let him go in these rather large bushes next to the office. There are a ton of lizards living there. As I was driving down the road inside the office park the little guy crawled down under the hood and I could see his little head poking out near my wind shield wipers. I parked my car and popped the hood to try and direct him into the grass and bushes. He proceeded to crawl around under my hood... so here I am in front of the office, hood popped and fumbling around
I got my hands all yucky and greasy trying to get this guy out! I finally managed to corner him, pick him up and put him into the bushes.
I sure hope the little guy is thankful

Sounds like me! I get these huge grasshoppers on my car in the summer time. They don't jump off and I drive them down the road to the closest place I can stop and take them off and put them in the grass.
People must think we are nuts!!

Well, even if he's not, as an advocate for all things cold-blodded, I am. Most people would have let him fly off or at least let him go when he crawled into the hood. So, on behalf of the little green guy you just saved... thank you!

I like to think he is thankful. He had to be scared and now he is safe. I love all animals and you have my thanks too!

Thank you for saving him!

My little girl picks slimy earthworms up off of the sidewalks after it rains so they don't get stepped on. Now I do it, too, because I think of her when I see one. Good deeds are contagious!

The other day I saw a guy stopped on the side of the road. He was stopped because he was moving a turtle to the other side!
I thought wow, some people do care!

This summer there was a seagull wrapped in fishing line at the shore by where we live. There were two men there who were throwing their jackets over it to try to catch it. Did I mention the seagulls here are the size of big chickens? The terrified seagull got in lots of good pecks and their arms and legs were covered with blood by the time they were able to cut the lines and free the poor thing. Kind of restores your faith...
