Murder in Moose Jaw

I'm pretty freaked out right now. MJ doesn't have that many homicides/murders/what-have-yous. We don't even have that much violence or fights. Anyways, I'm really freaked out because it happened where my grandpa used to live, which is a few blocks away. There hasn't been a murder here for years. I pass that building every day on my way to school. My friends saw the fire trucks on the way to band today, around 7:30 am.

I'm sorry sweetie.
it will be ok...just be cautious and street smart (as well as house smart- make sure your home is properly protected) .....I guess i'm use to murders (it that's possible to ever get use to such tradgdy) here in Memphis...it happens all of the time..it's soo sad
I hope the family who lost their loved one will be ok. My thoughts are with you tonight -you will be ok

I know stuff like that is scary but you can't let it rule your life so that you live in fear.

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I can't keep track of the number of murders that happen each year. I think it was either last year or the year before that a body was dumped on a church yard 4 blocks from where I live. It was a Hell's Angels Biker gang related shooting.

As populations grow and poverty levels rise, so do our crime rates. Unfotunately it's no longer only the poverty stricken that are resorting to major crimes like murder. Many are domestic related, and a large number are drug and/or alcohol related too.

I'm sorry to hear that Moz, i know it can be scary. Early this year someone was stabbed on my train line and died at the station i got off an hour before i arrived there. And there was another stabbing on our train line two days ago =(

We moved only 3 suburbs away so im still using the same lines to get to work and meet Tristan.

Honestly though, most days i forget about it till someone reminds me. You just have to get along with your day, and if you do ever worry, you know your friends and family are there to reassure you.
