Is it, or isn't it? - Abortion - Page 2

Boy I dunno about educating the entire dorm. If I were in that dorm and had to sit through a sex ed class because of one moron I would be angry at the waste of my time!

But I think Zissous'Mom is right on the money. Nowadays you can't be too careful about STDs. I am a child of the 70s and while I would have made a lousy nun, I never got into any serious trouble. If I were in my 20s today no WAY would I have unprotected sex with a guy unless he had shown me lab results for everything from HIV to genital herpes. Both of my SDs were sloppy about who they had sex with and are paying for it now. The older one is married and it looks like she is unable to have children thanks to her escapades of only a few years ago. The younger one has some kind of mysterious troubles which might mean the same thing.

I hope this gal has enough of a scare that if she is not pregnant, that she will be more careful in the future.

I think she was hoping that the combination of drink, drugs, whatever would cause a spontaneous abortion. That is the expelling of the embryo or fetus on it's own. However, her taking the drugs, drinks, whatever would make HER the cause of the spontaneous abortion IF it occured. Most likely it wouldn't and she would have a brain-damaged and/or physically or emotionally damaged child.

If people are so concerned about NOT having a baby and they choose to continue having sex, why don't they use birth control? Killing your unborn child is murder, no matter how young the child is. Even at conception, if you leave the zygote alone, you know what? Nine months later you have a baby.

You know I always forget about the IMO section... I'm glad I popped in and found this thread!

First of all I most definetely wouldn't slide anything under her door- religious pamphlet or Planned Parenthood.... she also could possibly figure out who put it there and that could lead to a whole other assortment of problems! PLUS what if she started to be more quiet about the situation- then you couldnt' get the dirt!

I am pro-choise but I am not going to go into detail about how I feel because it's mainly already been said.... but I do agree that what she is thinking about doing is considered an abortion...

I know your last update was only two days ago but I am eager to hear the next update!

If she wants to end to pregnancy, I would rather her have an abortion in a safe controled envirment, rather then hurting herself by drink and smoking to excess. But that's just me.

I say yes. She's knowingly putting her child at risk, hoping to get rid of it. In fact, I'd call it out right murder.

Any updates on this?

Oops, sorry about forgetting to update!! Her period was late, but it did come eventually. From what I've heard she's trying to get with a new guy now. Hopefully she has learned her lesson!!

I'm not a religious person, but I can't believe that someone who's too religious for abortion would believe that their God would be "fooled" by a "loophole" like this. Like St. Peter is going to review her life at the end and say, "Well, you pulled a fast one on us there. Guess we should have been more specific. Welcome aboard!"

Wow. Just wow.

IMO yes - its deliberate way to kill the baby. Too bad she's not willing to take a look at pictures of a baby in the first weeks/months of development.

And too bad she won't take care of herself and the child and then give him/her up for adoption to a loving couple that WANT the baby. IMO she's pretty selfish to be killing her baby.

Not flaming you so I hope it doesn't come out that way...who cares if she hurts herself! She is selfish, and yes I would consider that abortion, just not in a medical sense.

Also, maybe you should go to her and explain what she could have done to the baby and her in the first place incase she finds herself in that situation again. Personally, I wouldn't sneak pamphlets under her door, I would confront her myself and let her know how I feel and then tell her I wouldn't feel the need to be in her business if she wouldn't talk so loud. But I am a meddler like that lol.

People who don't want to see someone who obviously isn't very bright make a horrible mistake when she's, what, 18? 19? that can ruin her life or even kill her? Just because someone makes a stupid mistake, or do something selfish, doesn't mean they deserve to die. If drunk drivers only ever killed themselves, would we quit trying to prevent it just because the moral police think they should die for making a stupid, preventable mistake?

Maybe she is being selfish, but had she had decent sex ed in school (a thing which is disappearing more and more) she probably wouldn't be in this situation. If someone is trying to prevent her from hurting herself even more than she already has, good for them.

Honestly, a person following your advice would soon find themself without a friend on the floor, and if they went about it just the wrong way, they'd soon be kicked out of their dorm.

You know what's really funny about this? How much she would spin out if she knew a bunch of total strangers had spent six weeks discussing her sex life and menstrual cycle on a cat forum!!

Perhaps you should anonymously email her the link??? Then she might get an eye-opener, and education, and a good dose of shame all rolled into one. People like this twit need a wake-up call or they'll end up contracting some disease, ruining the life of an accidental child, or worse, giving something to someone else. Or, contracting cancer and liver disease from trying to make sure a baby she is carrying doesn't come to term.
