I am trying to get osap (ontario student assistance program) and I am having a lot of trouble. I don't think I am going to be able to pay for my second semester of school this year. I have enough to just get by for the first semester. Anyways, the reason why I can't get osap are:
I am not married/common law
I don't have any kids
My parents are both still alive and still together
I am not divorced/widowed
I haven't been out of high school for 4 years

Its so stupid that you have to be out for 4 years. I have only been out for 2 years, but my parents don't pay for everything. They just assume that they will, especially because my dads income last year was $99,400. I have one more year to go until me and my boyfriend are common law. What I want to do, is just go and get married. He thinks its a stupid idea. If we were married, I would get money no problem and we plan on getting married after college anyways. We've been together since we were 15/16 and now we are 20/21.

Does that sound crazy to get married just so I can get a student loan? I don't think it does, and I was talking to someone else about it and she thinks it makes sense too, and my mom even asked me why my boyfriend doesn't really want to. We could have a real wedding and reception in a few years when we planned on it, and just have a small one now.
