I'm new here and I have a Lilly-Rose (actually The Princess Lilly-Rose). I love your story and I'm so glad she found such a great home. I have one tuxedo (Sam I Am) and he is very chatty. We've been going through a rough spot with him, but he seems to be getting better. I know this because he's been very chatty lately. He loves to get in the window and chat to the neighbors, human and other!

I have a cat with enlarged heart. Can't spell it out. He does very well, but it's very disconcerting to people who don't know about his condition because his breathing appears to be so labored. He (Aragorn) is very active; he's part Abysinnian and Siamese with more of the Abby traits than the Siamese. He used to live with some neighbors, but when then had to move, they couldn't take him. Since he'd been "visiting" with us (including sleep overs) for the past year, we all decided it would work for him to move in permanently.

Hi ... I am new here and am looking forward to meeting new friends and learning about everyone's "babies." I have four now, Chandler Ray (Bubba) 12 years old, Sam I Am (Sammy, Sammer Whammer), also 12, The Princess Lilly-Rose (not as sweety as her name implies, but I love her anyway), 8 years old and Aragorn (adopted from neighbors), 3 in November. We recently lost Wyatt and for some reason, well meaning friends think I need a replacement. I guess they can't count! For now, 4 is plenty enough to keep me busy.

Welcome to TheCatSite
and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We are 9! rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered of course! felines, from 2 to pushing 17, and one loyal, loving, and devoted servant who's lived with, loved, and advoCATed for cats all her life. How well we know what you're going through regarding Aragorn; our beloved Lady Kinoko-chan, who went over the Bridge awhile back, had this condition as well, and was on medication for it, but succumbed eventually, to be with her beloved Tomo-Taisho and their loving mom, Bari-San, and Tomo's sister, Aiko. It seems that heart conditions are prevalent among Siamese and other pointed cats. Kin-chan was Himalayan, and Tomo was traditional Siamese. So glad Aragorn is with someone who loves him and cares for him so well. I know the rewards are great!
We LOVE talky cats, too. Our beloved Talker, named because, well, YOU KNOW!, charms everyone who meets him, and certainly lives up to his name. As a black Siamese, it's no surprise, either...

So sorry to hear of your loss -- I have gone through many myself, and know how heartrending it is. But perhaps your friend had a good idea -- I have always thought the best way to pay tribute to a beloved cat who has gone over the Bridge is to open up a place in my heart and home for ANOTHER rescued cat who so desperately needs a loving forever home. I've never regretted doing this, and it does not "replace" a loved one, but it gives another a chance at a good life, and also helps heal and fill a space in our hearts and home.

Thanks for all the welcoming. It sounds like I'm going to enjoy it here. I appreciate all the great thoughts. And, when it comes to adding to the family, I'm sure someone will show up. Since I've lived in this apartment I can't count the number of cats and kittens my neighbor and I have rescued and found homes for. When the time is right, the right one will come along. I'm not in any hurry at the moment. In fact, around here, my friend and I are affectionately known as "The Cat Ladies" because we've helped so many people find homes for their kitties for one reason or another, plus the rescue of "lost" souls.

When I figure out adding pictures, I will. Chandler Ray was rescued from the freeway as a 3-week old kitten. He proves that bottle feeding doesn't stunt their growth, he's over 20 lbs! He was off his diet, but now things are settling in with Sammy and Chandler Ray is back on his diet. He HATES being on a diet. He also still likes his bottle (now filled with water). I'll post a picture of that also because it is so cute. My mother keeps asking me when I'm going to wean him off the bottle. In fact, she's been asking me that for 11 years (he's 12). He's such a love and it really doesn't do any harm.
