Closed eye lid on Cat...3 days so far..(seen vet already)

The cat saw a vet on friday,oct6, given a triple anti-biotic gel and told to check back in a week if no improvement. The cat's eye was checked for injury(none)
Today is day 4 from seeing the vet.

The health issue? One eye's eye lid is almost completely shut. The eyelid is red,sore looking,the eye itself is reddish. Watering alot. I believe stinging too for the cat. I have been applying the triple antibiotic gel to the eye 2x times day.

The cat is sleeping alot,which is not unusal actually,but more deep sleeping. The cat is eating,drinking water. The eye problem seemed to improve very good after 2 days of applying gel,here on day 4 the eye issue is as bad as day 1 before we went to the vet.


Oral antibiotic? We asked,the vet said not needed.

I'd take the kitty back to the vet. If you don't get the kind of help you think your cat needs, I'd go for a second opinion at another vet's office.
