I use three different vets in our town. The one we use the most has no office fee and only charges for meds shots or what ever was done. So we use him for the simple things. And with 5 cats usually get out of there with less than a 50 dollar bill. But he does not have a lot of the equiment needed for anything major. We only use him for shot or simple sickness. The other two we use one is a 25.00 office visit for everyone you bring they dont charge extra per pet. The other is 25.00 for the first pet 10 for each additonial pet.

Our vet charges $15 for a visit. We go in every three months to have Spike's and Oz's weights checked, and we're supposed to be charged $15 each, but our vet decided that because it takes so little time to check them both (less than the length of time allotted for a visit for even one cat), she's only going to charge us for one cat. While we're there, she also checks the boys' teeth and eyes, pats them down to check for lumps and other problems, trims their claws (if necessary -- we usually do that ourselves) and gives us a free sample of cat treats. So, basically, because our boys are having their weight checked every three months (Ozzie is overweight; Spike tends to fluctuate between being slightly underweight and slightly overweight, so the vet likes to keep an eye on that), they're getting regular health checks -- which ought to cost more -- for $15 total; the only thing they're not getting during these visits is their vaccinations. I absolutely cannot complain about the quality of our vet care!

$40 for an exam. That fee is waived during the annual if shots are done.
I'd like to take Smidge the cat-only vet...but it is $49 exam with no waiving during the annual and EVERY service is almost exactly twice the price of my $40 vet.

Same vet I go to has a 24 hr practice as well - those visits are $50.

Thanks. I have to agree my vet is wonderful!!! Before I found her I had a couple awful vets. They weren't very caring and were rude. They acted like I was disturbing them by bringing my cats in for a scheduled appointment.

Mine is $37 for a visit, including nail clipping and general exam. Shots and all that of course are extra but reasonalble. No charge for a re-check. They have been good about hospitalization charges too. They don;t always charge for all the days.

I had both George and Pearl in today for their first Rabies vaccines and for George's pre-op neutering assessment. They did the shots, exams on both and George had blood drawn - the total was $91.50. My vet charges ONE exam fee no matter how many kittens I bring in. If I bring in more than three, I get a "multi-animal" discount of 5%.

For an office visit with the vet (no medication, injections, iv fluids) I pay 100 rubles...which is just under $4.

So that's who I'm going with, a little longer drive, but same day appointments at a lower price works for me!
Not saying I am an old geezer, but I remember going to the doctor cheaper for what vets are charging. But then again, perhaps it is because cats are worth as much as humans.

I remember my doctor's office visits costing $5.00 and sometimes he wouldn't even charge. Of course back then it also cost $100 for the doc to deliver a baby and about $300 to $500 for the hospital stay. I got to stay for 5 glorius days with my first.

Office visit is $45.50. My vet waives this for vaccination visits, and it seems there is always some sort of discount on my receipt when I leave his office.

The cheapest vet in our area charges $32.00 for a basic exam with anything else is extra. If their vaccinations are given, the office visit is waived.

Our normal vet chargest $49.00 per visit per pet, anything more is still extra. Revisits are $25.00. Ditto on the vaccinations as the other vet.

Isn't it amazing the differences in price? I know that a vet that is more technologically advanced will obviously charge more, but sheesh! I'm glad most of the vets seem to offer a multi-pet discount or waive certain fees when there are other fees involved. I guess what made me the most mad about my current vet is that I was in with Simon at the end of June, beginning of july and easily dropped around $500 trying to save him, and I am in there at twice a month for something
and since I have 12 leukemia positive kitties they are guranteed to have a lot of business from me, do you think they could help me out a little? heck, no, that's their "policy" to double charge
Plus I found out that this supposedly cutting edge vet does not alter before 6 months!!! you gotta be kidding me!! To be honest, I'm not really terribly confident in this vet that I took the kitties to on Monday, but I basically just need anti-biotics then, but if a real problem ever presents itself, I will most likely go back to the vet I was going to that charges sky-high prices
I really need to marry a vet or something

I THINK the vet here charges 25 dolars for the visit, vaccinations and/or meds are additional.

My vet charges $14.00 for a visit. (even if they stay after hours)
$4.00 per night if the cat stays the night.
declawing per set I think is around $12.00 or so.
This vet is cheap & does good.
The reason its so cheap, is because I live in Iowa & no one brings their cats/dogs to the vet. Ok, some do, but not like in the city.
