Is this normal? What can we do to help through this and how long will it last? The kittens left at 10 weeks and momma cat has been going in their room crying/meowing and sniffing around a lot. She is barely eating and lethargic. It's only been one day, but should I be worried? The vet said they are usually ready and "sick of" their kittens by this time, but she looks devasted! Any of your expereince or wisdom welcomed. Thanks.

You might want to try giving her a stuffed toy, to help her. Also, has she been spayed yet? You do need to make sure she is eating well, and I might be tempted to take her to the vets just in case there is something underlying.

If she's not spayed, set up an appointment. In a few days she should be fine. I know when we took the kittens away from mom (barn kittens) to be weaned/trained for litter box; mom would be outside crying for them. But a few days and she was fine. We would allow her to see the kittens once or twice a day, but kept them separated.

It is heartwrenching to see Momma grieving so, but it's the way things have to be ... give her some good, high-quality time playing and bonding with you interactively, allow her a few extra treats she might not normally receive and in a day or so, she will be fine.

Additionally, if she isn't already scheduled for her spay appointment, now would be a great time to get that done as GoldKitty45 has also mentioned.
