Ridiculously Easy Crock Pot Chicken

In the morning, or even the night before, throw however many skinless boneless chicken breasts you need into the crockpot (I use five or so), ad one can of cream of chicken soup, one can of cream of celery soup, cook it on low till dinner the next day (I usually start it just before bed), I usually shred the chicken, it's so tender it willl fall apart easily with a fork you can't ruin this. If you want to, a half hour before serving you can add 1/2 cup of sour cream, it's good either way.

I usually serve this over rice, but it will work over pasta or with biscuits too.

We aren't big turnip fans, either. I've made the stew without the turnips and it was good. When I started adding turnips again, though, it was REALLY good. It somehow adds to the blend of flavors. It's weird.

I'm not sure what your uncle was thinking!

Have you tried Shepards Pie?
Hamburger,Mashed tators,Corn

Make the Hamberger.. All as if u were putting it in Spagghetti...
Make some Mashed tators.
And a can and a half of corn

get out a Casorole dish, Put the cooked Hamberger in the bottom, Put the Corn, then the mashed tators.. And Put some sliced cheese on top, and back for about 10 -15 min.

I am Horrid at remembering the reciepe.. So look it up online, there is alot of different ways of doing it.

My Mom makes her Shepard's Pie with Peas and Onions rather than corn ... but she does the same thing with shredded cheddar on top, and I think she might use a little worchestershire sauce to season the beef, what ever it is, it's yummy! You've brought back a fond memory, I'm going to have to call and get her recipe now

On really quick nights I swing by the shoprite and get one of those oven roaster chickens, they're $5-$6 each, but they'll feed 2-4 ppl. Then a box of mac & cheese, and some green veggies. You can do that for under $10. And all of dinner takes you 10 minutes! (oh & get the mac & chs with the ready cheese pack, like velveeta but the store brand is less expensive....this way you don't have to get milk!)

Frozen chicken (as much as 6 pieces), bag of rice, 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom. put the chicken, frozen, and the soup in the oven in a big pyrex or deep pan, like 350 for 30 minutes, make rice as normal, serve together. It's goood. We used to have that a lot with frozen green beans.. like 10 bucks, tops. Sometimes we'd add corn or peas & carrots to the chicken and cream of mushroom soup. Or you can, instead of rice, cut up the chicken small and then cover with one of those pre-made (not baked) pie crusts, and have chicken pot pie, using frozen veg. medley.

How about a meatloaf roulade? 1 lb lean hamburg, 1 egg, dry breadcrumbs, mix together well, add a bit of worcestershire sauce and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix torn up bread pieces, a little bit of finely chopped onion (nuke it for a minute in the microwave to soften the chopped onion), a little bit of dried thyme, salt and pepper and a bit of milk to soften. Mix thoroughly. Take hamburg mixture and place on a piece of waxed paper and form a flattened rectangle with it (about 6 inches across and about 12 inches long or thereabouts). Spread bread mixture on top and then roll up like a jelly roll, sealing the ends and join by spreading the hamburg mix over any openings. Place in loaf pan and spread HP sauce on top. Bake at 350 for about 1 hour. You can cut up some potatoes and put in a separate pan, toss them with olive oil and tarragon and garlic, and bake at the same time. Makes a yummy meal!
