I'm thinking of getting Photo Shop Elements (I could never afford the Full version), but I was wondering if I can all the same things, like making siggies, download brushes etc? And is it a good program for doing other stuff with photos, etc?

Right now, I use Microsoft Picture It 7.0, which is not even made anymore, it's called something else. I'm hoping I can learn PSP as easy as Picture It. But what I'm really looking for is do the cool, new stuff!

Thanks

I have Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, and believe it or not MS PictureIt. I don't have Photoshop Elements, but the full version of Photoshop, but I've been told that basically Elements is the same thing as Photoshop Lite.

OK, Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are both great programs for making signatures. They're not as basic as Picture It, but you will find that you can do A LOT more with either program than you can Picture It, however you'll probably have to work a bit more to create things. One of the cool things with PSP is that it has tubes, and you can also download lots of new tubes from the internet. Photoshop does not have tubes, but I think Photoshop is a better program, and bit more user friendly. I only use Photoshop when making signatures, and most graphics for that matter. You can download brushes and filters for both Photoshop and PSP, sometimes the same filters will work on both programmes.

If you're used to Picture It, then you will probably find either PSP or Photoshop to be hard at first, but which ever one you get, I would stick to it, if I were you. It's well worth it.

My suggestion would be to get Photoshop Elements, because Elements is about the same price as PSP, but they are both great for doing lots of cool things with Photo manipulation as well as graphic work.

Thanks. I looked at Photo Shop Elements at Costco for $79.00, (they had a $20 rebate last time I was there, but not today).
, but then I was at Target and saw they have Paint Shop Pro X for $59.00, so I got that instead. I've heard good things about both programs. It looks really cool. I was just reading the manual about the tubes. I'm looking forward to using it. Again, with Picture It, I'm used to just fixing pictures, not actually layering, etc. So I'm excited
. I don't even know if you can layer in Picture It? I'm sure I'll be asking for help.

. I have read through the manual that came with the software, but I would like more detailed instructions. Is it pretty indepth about using PSP?
