...that my brother and SIL may be ready to adopt a new, furry family member. This is after losing both their cat and dog to old age over the summer. My SIL is bringing the kids to visit with the kitties in foster care on Sun. afternoon. She loves long haired kitties (their bridge kitty, Samantha, was a long-haired dilute tortie) and we have a number of kittens ranging in age from 12 weeks to six months ready for adoption.

I'd love to have a new furry niece or nephew, but only if Tom and Jenny really feel like they're ready. Losing Sam and JD (their lab) so close together was very hard on their family. But, I also know how much joy a new kitty could bring them. They're also considering adopting another puppy or young dog.

So, we'll see happens. I'll keep you posted on whether or not there are any new additions to the family!

I hope they find the perfect kitty. It won't make losing their furbabies any easier but you are right, it will bring much joy to their family!

There's a little long-haired female tuxedo that I've had my eye on.
I could see my SIL falling for her big time. This is Yodi:

Yodi is adorable. That's a great name too. I hope your brother and SIL find the perfect kitty and/or puppy for them.

Well guys, as much I'm hoping one of the foster kitties gets a home today, I suspect this is just going to be a visit. My brother isn't coming with my SIL and the kids and this really needs to be a family decision. I'm guessing Tom just isn't ready. Of course, there's the chance Jenn and the kids could absolutely fall in love with Yodi, or one of her littermates, and Tom would have a hard time resisting, but I'm not going to push it. I really want to give them the time and space they need to make the decision.

After all, it's not like they won't know who to call when they are ready!

It's been a happy afternoon! To my surprise, my SIL adopted two kitties this afternoon - a handsome, very laid back 5-month-old tabby male named Dusty and a and petite, pretty little gray/white 10-week-old female named Dori.
The kids were so excited and even my brother seemed okay with it.

So, I'm the proud aunt of a two furry new additions to our family.

Here's their pictures:
