Eye problems?

I got home from work today to find that one of our cats eyes don't look quite right. Her right one is slightly more closed than the other and the pupil is more dialated than the other. It also appears that the tissues around her eyes might be slightly inflamed (we only know this b/c a couple months ago our other cat had a similar problem). So we gave her the same eye drops that we gave our other cat when he had a similar problem, the vet said it was just an allergic reaction. So should we wait and see with these drops or take her to the vet?

You really should probably take her to the vet. You can't be 100% sure it is the exact some condition, so the drops could be doing more harm than good. Good luck.

well she's got a history of allergies, the vet always gives her an allergy shot and since it's been nice outside I've had the windows open a couple of times

At the very least it might be a good idea to call the vet and ask him/her about using the same drops for both cats. a professional opinion never hurts.

The vet tech we talked to said it's fine to give her the drops and if she gets worse to bring her in, this morning her eyes looked a bit better and we gave her the drops (which always make her eyes look worse b/c she keeps them closed for about 5 min. afterwards), but we have to go away for the weekend. The vet is booked up until Tuesday, so should we just wait and see?

Do you have someone to come in and take care of the cats while you are gone? Since you have some health problems going on that seems like the thing to do. Then if there are problems your pet sitter can get either of the cats to a vet if necessary.
