I have a few digital video questions if anyone has any experience with this ...

My digital camera has the capability of recording video w/sound. I have an event coming up I want to record. My camera software does not have any feature that allows for converting the video to a format which would allow it to be saved to a CD and readable on many different computers. Is there software out there to do this or what do I need ... ?

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, quite a few questions on the way!

Is it a DV camera or a stills camera that does video clips too? Which software do you have? Which format does it save in?

Once I know these bits, I'll see what I can come up with for you!

The easiest way i do it is to save it to the computer (just copy from the card) and then open in Windows Movie Maker and save there - although it makes it quite small in screen size

It is a stills camera that records video. The software that came with it is called VideoImpressions - I have been playing with it a little bit and it looks like it can save in a lot of different formats ... but which one is best to save it to a CD so I can distribute the disk to a lot of different people (who have different kinds of computers)?

Thank icklemiss21. But I don't have Windows Movie Maker ... is this something I would need to buy from like Best Buy or can I download it somewhere?

Generally, I find that Quicktime is the most commonly use application for viewing video clips. (it comes as standard on macs and is easily available for both if you don't have it) Off hand, I can't think of the format though, so will come back when I find it!
