I'm not sure if i'm in the right spot, if not please move just tell me where you put it. I was curious, if like dogs, you can kinda figure out what size your cat will be by multiplying there weight at a certain age by 2 and thats what size they will be full grown......Thanks,

Not as far as I know, but if you know the littermates, you might be able to compare how fast they each seem to be growing. Polly always grew slower than her littermates and ended up petite. There's no gaurantees, though.

I saw something similar to what you are talking about and the age it used was five months. Since my Himalayan weighted six pounds at five months I can expect to have a twelve pound cat according to this rule, but I personally do not put much stock into it, having read other people's comments on this site I can expect a cat between ten and fiteen pounds. Which of course twelve would be but I do know that these old rules like multiple a dogs age by seven to see how old he is in human years is just plain nonsense.

Not that I know of. But most purebred breeds tend to have a weight range for their type of bodies. For example, the oriental types (oriental sh, siamese, rexes) would be about 5-7 lbs when grown. A persian would be about 9-10. A maine coon would run 12-18 lbs (females smaller) and some of the others like bengals might run mid-upper teens too.

So if you have a cat that falls in a body build similar to certain breeds, you could predict weight.

Most domestic shorthairs have a medium to medium-large body and would probably run 10-14 lbs on the average.

As far as the age thing I've heard (makes more sense) that 1 yr is equal to about 20 in human years and then each year after that you'd multiply by 4 yrs. So a 2 yr old cat would be 24 yrs in human yrs. If you think of a 6-8 month old having kittens - it would be about 15-16 yr old human having a baby.

Our rex Spooky who was 15 when he died would have been 76 in human years.

Oh boy, we're in for it if it's 5 months. Bandit will be a big boy then tipping the scales at 18lbs!

For most domestics you can kinda figure about a pound per month (give or take). Some cats grow fast and while it might seem a lot at a certain age, when they are full grown, they even out - not double the weight.
