Yesterday my neighbour popped in and asked what i'd done with all my plants because everythings packed ready for me moving. When i told him i'd stuck them in the bath to wash them and pack them away, he said he always thought they were real because they were so lifelike.

What made me laugh though was when he said he was always jealous of my spider plants because of the babies hanging from them as he couldnt get his real ones to make them
>_< spiders? Honestly Susan... id never thought you liked them! :p

What a great idea!!!! I have wanted to bring in some cat grass or cat mint or something for them into the house since they are all indoor cats but couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t for the life of me figure out how I was going to do that without a mess. A litter box – great idea!!! (and I just got back from Walmart

I know what you mean. I kept telling them no and they just looked at me with those big bug eyes like "what did we do?". They're sneaky little things. I was holding my littlest up in front of me last night and telling her she has to stay out of the plants and I swear she was batting her eyes at me...

Ummm…..please let me live in “ignorant blissâ€â€¦â€¦.I have the best babies – they NEVER get on the counters. (that's catnip by the way - which they got out of a CLOSED upper cabinet!

I used to have this problem, I can help you there.
Keep your catnip in airtight containers in the freezer, it helps it to keep it's potency, and the kitties can't get to it....well, most couldn't.

Ooo, I sorry, didn't mean to spoil your bliss!

Talk about evidence, LOL!!!

I agree about the growing cat grass in a litterbox idea - I still have the tiny litterbox I used when they were kittens - guess what that's getting converted to this weekend!!!
Great idea Fwan!!!

Cats usually won't go near it....unless you have a stinker who is attracted to citrus scents(that would be the lovely Lily)!!

Mom's got her plants in her bedroom where the cats only are under supervision. Lily likes to poop in the dirt, so we gave up on most of the plants.

When Loki had the "bug" I used to put white pepper around the base of the plants - worked like a charm.

Catnip - I have to keep that in an airtight glass container in the garage - otherwise my whole house would look like your kitchen!!

in a pile of open toed shoes!
well, my sweet good girl has always been a plant bugger. I had an aloe plant and a bamboo plant, notice I said had. At first she would rip off the leaves & toss them around, and I couldn't figure out why the leaves were falling off, then I swore I saw a tooth mark in them?!?! hmmmmm.....so I put them up higher on top of my big screen tv entertainment center....yup, she can jump to the top of it, and it's taller than me (I'm 5'2"). And the leaves were still coming off. Then my little baby aloe plant ended up face down on the floor, dirt everywhere, and just would not live being replanted, I think it had had enough torture and gave up & died. So I went & got her that "cat grass" really it's wheat grass....yeah, she ate it a bit, but then she didn't bother with it. And it turned yellowish, and attracted little bugs....so I tossed it. I really don't have much of a green thumb and can only really grow mold in the refrigerator!

My husband installed plastic stoppers (found in the baby section) on the cabinet doors to "kitty proof" the cabinets.

As far as plants, the only plant we keep in the house is catnip and Oliver prunes it himself.

What i do is just follow the instructions on the packet, then i keep on adding less than half a cup of water per day, it depends if they are near the heater or infront of the sun ect.. When it gets too long just trim it, my last tray lasted well over 6 weeks!

My kitties like it when i sprinkle some grass on their food too

Bad news
- Fountain grass - tipped over - TWICE in less than 5 minutes after I brought it back in the house after being out for the day.

I WILL PREVAIL!
Currently the vacuum is acting as a nice deterant.
I just parked it in front of the plant. Problem is - it's not that nice of a decoration and obviously can't stay there.

AHAHAH your catnip picture reminds me of what happened when i left the cat treat bag out over night..... it had so many puncture holes.. i could have used it for a strainer! and they STILL wouldn't leave it alone... my bf hid it in the coutch... dont ask me why there... but our coutch tends to eat things.. and so lol for like a week... any time shiva was on his lap she would be sniffing around going "alright.. you've got the good... now where are they!"
