ok ... i have to drive 15 min to work every morning not a problem until.... my truck takes a dump and doesent work at all it is gonna cost me $$$$$$ to get it fixed so i found a job closer to my house ( i can walk). i put in my 2 weeks and yesterday my old boss said she would give me 7.50 an hour to stay ( .50 raise) but i would still be making only about 25-28 hours a week... today i go and talk to my new boss about this and he said he would match the 7.50 an hour but would give me 35 hours a week plus everyone at this store gets an extra .50 if they work on sundays. i know the choice seems obvious but its really hard for me cause i am so attached to the people i work with now (i also work with my sister) but i have to look at the benefits of working close to home right? i do have a daughter. if something happens to her i would be right here. ugh!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate this feeling i hate making decisions like this. i hate being frustrated lol. what should i do???

I'd go for the money, honey. How much difference will a little extra in your pay be if you have to spend it all on getting there?

I'd say it's a no-brainer, but you have to decide for yourself. You can always stay in touch with your former co-workers!

(I'd like to be in such demand that two employers are fighting over me and raising the wage offers! I'm jealous!
)

If your old job thought you were worth the extra money, they could have given it to you before you decided to leave. Not a good idea to stay where you only get what you deserve by threatening to quit.

I 100% agree with you and my new boss said the same thing.. "I find it funny that they offered to give you more money only after you told them you were coming over here". I am so burned out from working at taco johns that I gag everytime i walk in the building. I havent eaten a taco in about 6 months and i used to love them!!!!!!!!. Thats sad.
