This really ticks me off. I have three male cats with good appetites, and it was more cost effective for me to buy the big cans. The stores are out, and now I am told they are discontinued. I didn't want to spend more than around a dollar a day on wet food. I won't give them the crappy stuff, and they are getting sick of trader joes. damn.

I'd check around online and see if any companies have any left in stock that you can order before they are totally all gone - worth a try!

Have you called all the pet stores in your area to see if they have any left?

Yep, found a few cans of chicken with liver. We don't eat that.

Bummer. My kitties won't eat the liver flavor either. Sorry, was just a thought.

Well I just got off the phone with the company. They stopped making them (except for liver and chicken ugh) because they just were not selling. thanks a hell of a lot. Now I don't know what to do. I hope they like the triumph I bought. They didn't like it last time I gave it to them a few months ago. all I can do is wait for the small cans to go on sale and stock up big time. Now it is trader joes or nothing.

I've seen big cans of brands like Innova, Evo, Felidae, etc, for $1.29 a can at Pet Supplies Plus and at the little store I usually shop at. The smaller stores will sometimes discount if you buy a whole case. I think my store knocks a couple bucks off the price.

They like turkey and chicken. I would like to be right on the dollar mark, but I will go over. The big cans of science diet (14 oz.) were $1.15. Now they are only making 13 oz liver and chicken. Before I found this site, I used to feed my other cats friskies, which you can get for $.30 a can. Once I came here, I realized that I wasn't feeding them the best food, even though my two dearly departed old girls lived to ripe old ages. So my wet cat food budget went from one(5.55 oz.) .30 cent can a day for two females, to 12+ oz. a day for three young males. Since I improved the quality as well as the volume, I have quadrupled my budget. It is hard for me to justify this increase as I am in social services and don't make a lot, or enough money. That's why I am trying to draw the line at a dollar a day, but it doesn't look possible.

Eagle pack has large cans and at least here it is about 1.20 a large can

Iams has some new cans and they are about 1.20 a big can

thanks sharky, I will look into those. From what I read meowmix is a lot of fish and I thought too much fish wasn't good, and my guys don't seem to like it much. It is bad for the cystits problem? I will check out the other types. See if they like them.

OH NO...I bought ALOT of cases of science diet about year ago when petsmart had that great sale on the 5.5 oz cans(think it was .40 a can...?) anyway i went throguh most of it(have 10 cases left) and now they do this NOOOOOOOOOOOOO haha...i got to say tho the 5.5 oz do seem to be a little juicier. but when they aren't on sale TO expensive for all mine to eat. ok who wants to explain to kitty cats that they all have to switch over when the big cans are no longer there...Wonder tho if there are any plans to add flavors among thier 5.5 line(3oz cans are never on a good enough sale) RJ

Well, this morning we officially turned up our noses to the Triumph Turkey, which looks to be a very good food. How long do you let it sit out before you give in and throw it away and give then something else?

The old folks in my family, my Mom, my grandparents and my aunt who had cats for years used to leave wet food sitting out for half a day and their cats never got sick, cats don't eat spoiled food and it takes longer than just 30 minutes to an hour to get bad, it will spoil faster in hotter weather. I find it to be such a waste of money to throw wet food away after as short as a half hour as my cats often like to wait until a bit later to eat their food. I have to waste enough money throwing the wet food down the garbage disposal that my cats won't eat. I don't think it should be left out for a half a day though like the elders in my family always did, although it didn't do any harm. I throw wet food away after 2 hours to give my cats a chance to finish it. But if I'm getting ready for work in the morning I can only let it sit out for an hour to an hour and a half.

"I could be wrong but I understand they are disc ing the 13 oz cans"

I meant that now i'm almost out of the 5.5 and have to buy more food the big cans are not going to be there anymore..Then that got me thinking maybe they are going to take off with thier 5.5 oz line to have more flavors. Be honest mine would happily eat special kitty or some odd store brand...rather see them eating better tho
! Anyone know of online stores that have free shipping often? I was looking the other day for free shipping codes but didnt see any valid ones(looking at any petstores). thanks RJ
