They will continue to nurse as long as Mom lets them nurse. *smile* My "babies" are 16 weeks old now and if Lexus lays down, they try to nurse. Sometimes, she lets them, other times, she kicks them in the head and walks away. *LOL*

mine are gonna be 8 week's on thursday and still nurse as soon as mum lay's down but there all eating wet and dry food and drinking water once ur mamma cat has been spayed and her milk dry's up they may still contuine to try and nurse which may be painfull for mum and may pull on her stitch's so you may have to confine her to a bedroom to recover

Shannon was 16 weeks on Sunday and is still nursing Ruby when she's in the mood.

Mine too, at 9 weeks are still nursing from time to time. The spay clinic here won't spay her until her milk dries up, they actually told me that I could have been weaning them at 6 weeks. They said they do the incision there so the milk needs to be dried up. So as of tonight, she will be wearing a sock over her belly! She got out today but we brought her right back in, and I want no more chances of pregnancy!!!
They won't do the babies until they are 4 months old.~~sigh~~

Ruby was actually spayed on August 21st before her milk drid up. I had them separated for a week after the spay and it looked like it dried up. I think Shannon is more "comfort nursing" than anything.

Can always try a baby onesie instead of a sock they are alot easier and cover everything that needs to be . She may not like it but least it works

Tiger is 1½yr old and will nurse on Reilly if she lays down. Reilly isn't his mom but I don't think he cares

Tiger and his littermates DID nurse on momma for a LOOONG time
I think they were about 14-16 weeks when Dixie finally put her foot down

so my 3 kittens are in good company nursing into their 4th month. we had their mom spayed during their 3rd month and the vet didn't mind that she was still feeding them. when we had the 3 kittens spayed/neutered just this past week their mom really hissed and put up a fight when they tried to drink. (did they smell differently to her? i don't know). and i was sure they would finally be weaned. but they still drink on occasion. because their mom is only 5.5 lbs (a tiny cat) it is quite the spectacle.
