Hello everyone.. we are new to the forum! And from the amount of posts underneath mine, I'm not the only one!
My name is Deanna and my boyfriend's name is Tony - our cat that we don't have at the moment will be named Keeba. We should be getting her this coming weekend - we're so excited! We currently have a bird (Chief) and turtle (Jyra)- I'll post pictures of them soon in the other threads. And I will make sure to post plenty of pictures of Keeba once we bring her home!

I'm glad I found this site. Everything looks so informative and I already love it. Thank you!

Also, I'd like your opinions - is two kittens better than one?

Hi and welcome
I have 2 kittens I also have 2 dogs the dogs are 14 and 15 years old and have been life long friends and companions. When I got sox who is 6 months old now he instantly made friends with both the dogs and I realised that harsh as it is the boys will only be around for a few more years at best. I didnt want Sox to be left on his own so I got Jazzy who is now 4 months old. They play together and sox grooms and cleans his younger friend I hope in time that they too will be life long friends and companions. I am new to owning cats myself and new to the site so I am not really sure if 2 cats are better than 1 I think cats are quite independant therefore should cope well on their own and I have a friend who has 2 cats that cant stand being in the same room as each other lol. I am sure you will get lots of advice from people much more experienced in cat ownership than me but I thought I would share with you my reasons for getting 2

At the kitty's beck and call
Hi there Deanna
we're so happy to welcome you to TCS. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions

Hopefully you will have your new kitty companion now - I bet it was so exciting bringing home your little bundle.
I can't wait to hear all about him/her.

If kitty is going to be alone for long parts of the day, having two kitties might be better to keep the little one company.

Thanks for the replies! We are getting the cat this coming weekend, so we don't have her yet. We were wondering about two kittens because we heard it's better for them to have a companion. She would only be left alone for about 5 hours...and that's only on Monday-Wednesday. So I'm sure she will be fine being by herself. We'll be either getting her from an ad in the paper or a local shelter. I've heard a lot of kittens will have respiratory infections when they come from the shelter and kennel cough, so hopefully we don't run into that problem. Well, I'm glad to be part of this family! Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hey hey Deanna, Tony, Chief, Jyra, and (soon...!) KEEBA!

Glad to meet you and welcome! We're pretty new, too -- just got here late last month and wow, is it great! We are 9 indoor, rescued, spayed/neutered felines! ranging from Nicolas, who's over 16 and going strong, to Suha, who's still at the "terrible twos"! We call her Suha the Terrible or The Bitemouth Kitten 'cuz, well...
Oh, and there's our humble servant, who waits on us hand and foot. Call her "Our Lady of the Pan".
We'd love to know what kind of BIRD Chief is and where you live exactly, so we can come over and meet him personally
and we'd love to meet Jyra, too! (OH BOY NEW CAT TOY!!! lol JUST KIDDIN' Jyra...)

See ya! Purrrz, The Mojave Meower Power Brigade and our faithful servant, OLOTP
