If you're in the USA, what state do you live in by chance? I'm a dental student. I was asking because there are a lot of local, church run medical facilities that provide medical care, including dental in many areas. Maybe you could check into one of those and see about having your dental work done...many times they do it at an extreme discount or at no cost. (I live in Memphis....one example of that here is the Church Health Center. They do good work and help a lot of people
) Good luck!

I started dropping STRONG hints to DH that if he wants to make our first married Christmas REALLY special, he'll buy me a bottle of Chanel No. 5. We'll see....

That sounds like a great plan, I live in Canada however and don't have medical insurance with my job. I am trying to get into a local School for dental hygenists so at least they can clean my teeth and tell me where I might have a problem

I LOVE to get clothes for Christmas. And jewelry, but hubby always gets the jewelry ALL wrong. He buys me gold when I like silver, etc... I mean I MAKE jewelry so one would think he would know my tastes by now... Sorry just a quick vent. I'm really grateful for anything that he picks out himself.

I also would like a good quality electric drill/driver so I can hang things on the wall myself without having to wait for my husband to do it. (I've had shelves ready to go up in my bathroom for 2 months now and I'm not strong enough to screw into our walls by hand.)

I would also like things to finish up decorating in our bedroom.

Good luck with that. I hope you can find someone to help you out dental wise soon!
Also...contact the local dental schools in your area...they love taking appointments! It works out great both ways- the students get to practice and hone their skills and you get your dental needs taken care of ....usually free of charge or very cheaply- and they do great quality work
. Also, no worries over having students do your work- there are ALWAYS trained doctors supervising and coaching them so they don't mess up. And they are also learning the latest, less invasive procedures....so often times they are excellent. Definitely look into that! I'm sure they would do great work for you. I know my school is excellent about that and they in turn help a lot of patients who would otherwise not be able to recieve dental treatment if not for those programs. I hope everything works out well for you and you get your Christmas wish!

As my hubby would say-get a Bosch (Makita's are overpriced) or Porter Cable is good. Some of these places have a refurb site to get good deals. A 14 volt cordless would do it!!
The 18v cordless are a bit heavy for a woman!!

I was torn between the 14V and 18V. Thanks! I want something managable but with power. I'll be adding this to my Christmas list!

I'd really like Paint Shop Pro - but would have to get a new computer to run it. The one I have is almost maxed on the hard drive! Oh well - one of these days!

Hmmm haven't really thought about what I want!

I know what we're giving this year though! We're doing up personalised calendars with photos of our adventures in the US so far for each month for all the family (one each, not one to share...)

Ooh actually, one thing I would like is a gift voucher for REI so I can buy lots of clothes! I lerrrrrve their clothes, but rarely do I spend money on myself, especially not on clothes!

Every year that is what Dad would get Mom for her birthday (in December).

I asked for my own cordless drill last year and he got me one of those roto tools instead. It's okay, does some cool stuff, but it's not cordless.

Some new art brushes.

For the cats, a couple new heated beds.

A new pair of tennis shoes or maybe hiking boots.

I'm not sure what you call it...it's like a radio but just makes sounds...ocean, wind, etc, for when the TV in the other room keeps me awake.

I don't really need anything, but I have to make a list cause DH will drive me nuts until I tell him something.
