I'm vary curious if there are cat registries that registar first generation hybred cats. I've noticed that dog hi-breds are on the increase. Labordoodle is an interesting idea of someone's cross. It even made Time magazine.
I've seen a couple cat ads where people were mixing hemi's with something, but haven't seen anyone promoteing a registry for them. Of course it appears that with cats, a group of people can get together, and invent a new breed, so maybe the idea of hi-breds hasn't started in the Cat fancy.

As far as I know, you can register any breed with at least TICA, AACE, and UFO. Not sure about CFF or CFA. For instance, one could register Munchkins with TICA all along, but it wasn't until this year that they decided to finally accept them for championship. With the other 2 associations, although smaller than TICA, they accepted them for championship a full 1 - years, respectively. 1st generations, however, are not accepted anywhere that I'm aware of. Either 3rd or 4th depending on the association.

I think the bigger question is, WHAT are some of these breeders doing?? Some of these experimental hybrid breeds just don't make sense to me, don't do anything to enhance either breed, and in some cases may prove to be harmfull in the long haul. That is, of course, just my opinion.

There is a registry I think that will accept first generation mixes. NAPDR. They are very liberal about who they will register and solong as you have papers for both parents you can get papers for the babies.
