I'm not psychic,I just see through people
I've heard Rescue Remedy can help Cats with behaviour problems and was just looking into Bachs' Rescue Remedy.

Clematis is listed as one of the ingredients,Clematis is also listed as poisonous to cats.

Does anybody have anymore info or know of any links where I can find out wether this product is Safe for cats?

Please don't use Rescue Remedy on your cat. Humans react differently than cats, and plants and tinctures that cause us no harm can seriously injure or even kill the cat.

Rescue Remedy is basically an infusion of those flowers steeped in brandy. I would think there is very little risk from the flowers to the cats - I have used Bach's Rescue Remedy on my own cats with no ill side-effects whatsoever. In fact, one old, diabetic cat I had used to get a drop on the end of her nose three times a day, bless her heart. We used to say she was having her "wee drintle of brandy" to calm her nerves. *grin*

Wow, I have never heard of Rescue Remedy being bad for cats! This is news to me. I have used it successfully on many cats with no harm at all coming to them.

I use Rescue remedy in moderation on my cats from time to time and have had no bad reaction for either of them. It was recomended to me by at least 15 people here on the forum, no onesaid anything bad about it or warned me from using it.

I wouldn't use any of these tinctures without speaking with my vet first. While people here obviously had great success with Rescue Remedy, I've read other posts on this forum about cats whose owners innocently gave them peppermint or tea tree--with very sad results. Better safe than sorry.

I've never had any issues with my kitties, and my vet has actually recommended it to help with Odo's excessive meowing.

I have only heard of Rescue Remedy as a good thing to help cats, recommended by vets and lots of people on here and other random people I have spoke about it with.

i have used Rescue Remedy on a few different cats now with no side effects. Didn't realise Clematis was poisonous.

I'm not aware of any adverse effects with rescue remedy and have used it on my own cats. I've heard it recommended by many people, not just on forums but in cat magazines, from holistic vets etc. Although like most things, it's probably best to be safe rather than sorry and check with your vet if you have any doubts.

I'm actually off to the vets this morning with one of mine, so if I remember I'll ask about rescue remedy.

I have never heard of any adverse reactions either? I use it on my kitties!

You can also get Dr Petals Elixr, which are specifically created for animals and can be used by us too!

I use Rescue Remedy with one of my cats daily, and have had wonderful results. I've seen no negative side effects.

I've used a Rescue Remedy that's made with tree essences, instead of flower essences. It works wonderfully, and none of the ingredients are potentially poisonous.

Gaye, German pharmacies sell a water-based version for pets - that might be available in the U.S., too.

Where whiskers abound.
There isn't enough concentration of Clematis in Rescue Remedy to poison a cat, it is the ~vibration~ of the flowers that heal.

Vibration is something I have been doing a bit of research and it is facinating

......

FOR everyone the only caution my vet gave was for my liver issue dog ... the alcohol should be further diluted for animals with impaired organ function... ie using 2 drop of RR and 6 drops water

I've seen it for sale in "doctors foster and smith".

I've never used it on my cats but I do use it myself from time to time and have been considering using it on Bea cuz she's so high strung...
