I found out something very sad last night. I suppose this happens to everyone at some point. Back in High School I was a casual friend of this one girl. She was totally cute with curly red hair and just and adorable personality. She dated one of the 'bad boys.' The guy who spiked the punch at prom. Shortly after that they broke up and went their separate ways.

About a year or so later I met her aunt by chance, their last name was very easy to remember, and unique! Through her I found out she had married and was expecting a baby.

A few years after that as I was waiting in the terminal on the base to see DH off to his first deployment since we'd been married she was there. Along with her husband who was deploying with DH and 2 adorable little boys. I was very distressed and didn't get to speak to her. Shortly after that I heard a rumor that they were having problems and weren't sure that her husband was the father of her second boy. Well at that point there was no disputing it...both boys looked exactly alike and just like their father.

So it's been at least 3 years since then now. Well almost 3 years to the day actually. Last night a friend from HS that I am still close to, ran into another old friend. She was killed in a car accident shortly after I saw her the last time. She had separated from her husband and was in the car with her old high school boyfriend and 3 other people. Both she and the other girl in the car were killed. They all were drunk.

I am so heartbroken. She was a wonderful person. Sweet and insecure at the same time. She was the kind of person you hoped you'd run into frequently over the years because she just always seemed to care and be so excited to see you. She's gone now. And she's left 2 little boys, both will probably not remember her.

I'm sorry to be so long winded on here about it. I'm just in shock I guess. Please please please, don't ever drink and drive. And don't let anyone you know do that either. Our actions extend far beyond affecting just ourselves.

for you in this tough time. Having lost a daughter, son-in-law to be and unborn grandson to drunk drivers, I agree with you totally.

Always let your loved ones know that they are.

That is alway's so hard to take even if you haven't seen them in awhile, My daughter had a friend that I met several times and I just genuinely liked her, and I had been meaning to call her awhile back thought about it many times, and just never did, and I found out she commited suicide, I was Heartbroken and I still am months later, It's so hard to keep in contact with everyone.
I'll have you and her family in my thoughts and prayers

I am soo sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you sharing your story with everyone will prevent someone from getting in a car the next time they have a drink. You never know whose life you may touch by posting that story- you may just save someone

Condolences to you and your friend's family. how sad for her little boys

She made a bad choice that night, and now so many innocent hearts pay the awful price.
I, too, lost my eldest brother to a drunk driver. His sons are forever scarred. Although they have gone on to university, and are really great guys, very loving and responsible, it hurts to hear my nephew tell me that he's mad at God for taking his father (he was 8yo at the time) and sparring the life of the drunken woman who caused the accident.
