Weight of my two litters....

Mitten's litter (minus the one I gave to Misty)(4 days old):

Black & white = 3.0 oz
Longer solid black = 3.3
Runt of litter solid black = 2.4 oz
Longer white = 3.1 oz
Shorter white = 3.1 oz


Misty's litter (2 day's old):

They're all white, so I'll just go in order of size,

4.8oz
4.7oz
4.3oz
4.0oz
4.0oz
(then Mitten's white kitten) 3.4oz


Are these weights normal?

Those weights are OK on that second litter, but that first one might be a little light. You would expect to see a little drop in weight over the first couple of days, but now you should begin to see a steady increase in weight every day. How often are you weighing them? If daily, that is good. That way, you can really keep an eagle eye out for any problems.

I'll weigh them everday to keep track of growth.

When the second litter was born, they were a little bit bigger I noticed, but they are nursing just about all the time. MIsty only leaves them a couple times a day to use the litter box and her food and water are right beside her, so she doesn't have to go far.

i'm just wondering if mitten's litter was slighty premtureat normally at birth there around 3 -4 oz then roughly put 1/2oz on each day when lily had a prem litter 1 of her's survied 4 day's , but only weighed 2oz at birth witch didn't change over those 4 day's even though i was hand feeding , how are mitten's kitten's doing now ? hope there getting stronger

They weren't premature because she only had a 3 hour window on July 25 to get preggers and she had them exactly 63 days later. They probably could have used another 5 days though.

They're all still alive. I already see a difference between Mitten's kitten that I put with Misty and her other ones. THe removed one is gaining weight, can now make lusty meows but back legs aren't functioning as well as Misty's kittens. I think it will come with weight.

Mittens kittens still don't really meow or anything. We have to go make sure they're feeding every couple hours. Mittens doesn't really want to take care of her kittens.

I just weighted Misty's litter again. I'm going to weight Mittens after they're done feeding.

Bigger white: 4.2oz (3.7) (3.1)
Smaller white: 3.8oz (3.5) (3.1)
Black and white: 4.0oz (3.5) (3.0)
Small black: 3.3oz (2.8)(2.4)

I'm going to go weigh them in for today and then up date.

aww you can deffently see the weight gain i think by the time there 1 week old they should roughly be double there birth weight , this is what i have read anyway lol

lol so you see they don't alway's double as long as they put on weight even if it's a tiny amount it's fine , sometime's mine didn't put any weight on when i checked them daily but the following day there weight would go up, i have only had 1 day when one of the weight's went down slighty but the following day it was back up glad everything seem's to be going ok now

holy cow, your babies are even bigger than mine...hola. Maybe it's because there is only 3 to feed and not 6 eh?

that's what i was thinking there 8 week's tomorrow and the bigest weigh's in at 2lbs 8oz and the smallest is 2lbs there going for there jab's next tuesday and there worming stuff i'm gonna hate it when my sister take's her one lol i'm keeping the other 2
