Ok let me start from the begining i have 2 big cats one weighs 31lbs and the other weighs about 26lbs the heaviest one is a diffrent brad its crossed with something because it is bigger than a normal cat in paw size tail size and skull size. anyway Im worried about the one he has really bad breath and i hear that that can mean it has health issues. They are indoor cats and dont get much exercise, although we got a new kitten and she has been playing with them alot so im sure its good for there health. any suggestions on there health the one is 11 yrs old and the other is 6 yrs old.

thanks for any help.

Are you looking to get their weight down? If you are, I too have an over weight cat. I started feeding him Iams Weight Control canned food only, and he's dropped a signifigant amount of weight, and his coat is gorgeous, and he's more active, and healthy.

Does that help at all?

Bad breath can also be an indication of gum/dental issues. My suggestion to you is to have your vet do a thorough exam including blood work to check for organ function and urine analysis. During the exam, your vet will check for dental problems and can recommend the appropriate course of treatment.

While at the vet's office, ask about a safe weight loss diet. In my experience, canned food is a better choice when trying to get a cat's weight down. If your cats are normally eating a diet heavy in dry food, slowly cut back on the dry and feed more canned.
