I was on the phone and saw the cat go through the "cat hole" to where the litter box is. Then he came out. A few seconds/minutes later I saw him under the kitchen table motioning as if he were covering his waste (pawing at the ground) -- then a saw one lonely little poop behind him.

I checked the box (it had just been scooped before he went in it) and there was poop in it.

So... is it possible he thought he was done but wasn't? Or, maybe the last one clung to his behind and fell off when he was under the table (would he still have tried to "cover" it?).

I sure hope this was just an oops and will not happen again. Frankly, I get upset reading about all the pooping/peeing problems people have with their cats on this site and don't want to be one of them! Kitty is 6 mos old neutered male.

The lone poop ball is a signal for me to trim Ginger's butt fur. It's very reliable.

I found a solitary nugget behind the door earlier - I was a bit concerned until I saw just how much litter was strewn around on the floor, my kitty is a real digger and even though his litter tray is big and deep enough to bathe a child in, he still manages to strew the contents around half of the room when he is covering
