MY CATS GOING BALD! ?WHY

I HAVE 6 YR OLD BLACK MALE CAT. WHO SEEMS TO HAVE SEVERAL AREAS OF BALDNESS. NOT SURE WHY? ISN'T ACTING SICK, APPETITE IS EXCELLENT STILL A PIGGY. IS OUTSIDE CAT.AND NEUTERED. LIVES IN HOUSE WITH SPAYED YOUNGER FEMALE AND NEUTERD MALE, THEY APPEAR FINE NO HAIRLOSS. NO CHANGE IN BEHAVOIR STILL CLAWS MY COUCH SEVERAL TIMES A DAY! DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG WITH MY CAT?

He should go to the vet to get a check. It could be ringworm, allergies or something internal. A lot of cats seem to develop food allergies and loose hair. Ringworm is a fairly commom fungus cats can pick up outside. Also hair loss can be associated with things such as a thyroid problem. If left untreated, all of them can pose a great threat. Please keep us updated.

hair loss on the inner thighs can also be a sign of eosinophilic granuloma complex for which steroids are usually prescribed. Rule out ringworm or allergies first. Good luck
