First off.....here's some pictures of my new kitty...he's only 7weeks old...but im kinda thinking maybe even 6weeks...
I'm pretty positive he's a boy..lol...and I named him Milo!!

Well now for the advice part..I havnt had a kitten in awhile now...I have a 4yr old cat....but, all this kitten does is meow!!! is this normal?? He'll follow me everywhere crying, and he wants picked up and cuddled with...only way he'll stop...

I thought kittens were suppose to be full of energy?? he never wants to play, and all he does is sleep... should I be worried about my poor little kitty??

6 to 7 weeks is a bit young to be taken away from his family. That is why we recommend placing kittens around 10-12 weeks so they get extra time with their family. Where did you get him from??

Has he seen a vet yet?? If he is at least 6 weeks of age he is due for his first vet check. I would let the vet know that your kitten has been acting the way he has and see if the vet has any suggestions. It may simply be that your little one is missing his family, but best to have a vet look him over.

I called my vet and they said I have to wait until he's 9 weeks before I can bring him in.....thats only when they'll do his first shots, so i have to wait 2weeks before i can bring him in...

Im guessing he's missing his mommy too.....he eats well, uses the bathroom (just sometimes makes a mess on himself, and leaving me to clean him up lol)...he didnt make a sound the first day and night...and now he's meowing like crazy, following me everywhere......I guess he just looks to me as his new mommy now

Oh yes...I got him from someone who was giving away free kittens in the newspaper... i went to my local humane society, but no kittens were available, plus they werent too helpful...maybe cause they thought i was too young to adopt a pet

It is very interesting that your vet will not see him until he is 9 weeks of age...here in the states, kittens usually get their first worming done around 6 weeks of age. I know you are concerned about him....so is there another vet who would be willing to at least look him over and tell you whether there are any health issues associated with him sleeping a lot?

Do you still have that person's number?? Could you contact that person and let them know what your kitten is going through and ask them if they have any other kittens to possibly hold them a little longer with mom??

Hes adorable. And he is very young to be away from his mom. He sees you as comfort and his care taker now and wants to be close. Hold him often and just let him be with you. This behavior will get better as he gets abit older. I would get him checked just as soon as possible.

He might be really hungry... he's very cute though! I am not all that experienced, but he looks hunched over to me. His posture doesn't indicate that he's feeling too well, either that or he was just really tired when you took those pics. I'm sure he'll adjust soon... congrats on your new kitten!

I do think you need to find a vet who will see him - he is too young to be separated from his mom, and he doesn't look too well to me. He is absolutely beautiful.

I know that vet around my area of Canada are weird about ages too. You have to look really hard to find a vet that will preform certain things at earlier ages. Here, most vets will make you wait until your cat is about 1 year before they will spay/neuter them. I know this because I'm looking into it for my litters of kittens.

Anyways, he could really miss his mom and could be hungry. What kind of appetite does this little fellow have and what are you feeding him???

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it can be, we just lost our litter of foster kittens a couple weeks ago. You may want to contact the person you for the kitten from and let them know, it could have been Fading Kitten Syndrome (similar to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in human babies) but it could have been something else, most kittens are getting important nutrients and anti-bodies from Mom's milk, and they need that to fight off diseases. It also could have been something more serious, like Parvo/Distemper, in which case, the other kittens have a 90% chance of dying too. Please call the person who gave it to you and explain what happened so she can warn the other kitten parents out there!
