Vibes Please?

I don't usually ask for vibes but in this case I will.. DH has to go to court tomorrow to take care of some legal matters involving the custody of his daughter. He hasn't seen her in over 9 years. Her mother lost custody of her about 6 yrs ago and we just found out in the last year. We've searched everywhere and finally found her. She's living with her mother's ex-boyfriend's mom... Confusing isn't it? We also found out that all the child support he's been paying has not been going to the daughter. It's been going to her mother. Not the woman who has custody. We are hoping for some answers as to why he was never notified of this change. We've been told because they couldn't find him. Which is untrue. He's been paying CS out of his paycheck EVERY WEEK.. they know where he is.. it's a long confusing situation and we are desperatly wanting to know what's going on. It's sad that they have kept her from us for so long that she doesn't even know who we are anymore. She's going to be 12 this year and we've missed so much of her life.
We don't want full custody. It would be too much of an uproot in her life. We just want to be able to talk to her, see her, visit her and for her to know she does have a dad that cares about her and 2 stepbrothers who want to know her. DH is fully prepared to tell them that he is NOT going to pay anymore CS as long as it's still going to the bio mother due to her proven drug use. He's even went as so far to say he'll rot in jail until the CS goes to where it should be... HIS DAUGHTER but refuses to support his ex's drug habit...
We have to be in court at 8:15 am.

Custody issues are always so distressing. I do hope you get a good outcome.

Hopefully this can get straightened out and the support will go where its supposed to go-to his daughter. Maybe a trust account or something similar??

We went to court this morning. Were there for over 5 hours! They got it resolved. The CS is now going to the woman who has custody. This is just a small step in a long journey. Our next step is to find out HOW this woman got custody w/o notifying DH. We are happy with the outcome of this. It's prompted the courts to look further into the situation!

Glad that things are working out well! Thank goodness that you guys were willing to do what it took to get this situation ironed out 5 hours is a long time, but so worth it, considering that you're getting results. I'm glad that the children have their dad looking out for them
