I am afraid the actual owners don't care enough about who this little guy goes to.

This is a sweet little (TINY!) dog named Cody. He is a Min Pin but the runt of the litter so he i extra small, chihuahua mix looking. He is 4 years old and not neutered and the owners don't want him anymore. He is not working out with their great dane and huge chocolate lab (they are neutered) so they say but I think he is also marking due to not being neutered and having other male dogs in the house. I think their house is just too small for all that dog.

Anyways, he is a sweetheart and sleeps under the covers with you. They basically came out and told me they don't really care who he goes to, but good thing I do which is why I am posting.

If anyone on here is interested in fostering or know anyone who is looking for a great little guy please please let me know ASAP. His adoption fee or requirement is to neuter him and I will make sure that is set up before going to a new home. I can get the new owner a Friends of Animals Certificate.

Thanks guys.

- I would have him at a drop of a hat !!

how could the owners NOT want him ? ? ? ?

it gets me real mad when people let their dogs have litters then wont take responsibility for the pups

here sending lots of good wish {{{{{vibes}}}}} for a new home

Actually he has never been bred. And I want it to stay that way
They got him as the runt of the litter. He is 4.

I am sorry I dont mean to offend - I´ve mis-understood your original post - it sounded like the owners where dumping him.......but if they have had him for 4 yrs - well fair enough.
I still hold the opinion about dogs being allowed to breed, weather on purpose or by accident, its irresponsible, as, well the litter has to go somewhere.

Also I am not sure when you say "he has never been bred" ? who do you mean,

Anyway good luck with re-homing - bless him

I think Mooficat means the people who bred this adorable little guy...That THEY shouldn't have been able to breed him. His dam is likely a BYB owned dog as any good breeder would make sure that this guy had a contract to be neutered at 6 months and that if the owners got rid of him, that he was to go back to the breeder (right of first refusal in any good breeding contract).

At least that is what I think she meant. It's my opinion too, in any case...

I do not know where they got Cody from. Probably a BYB yes. They are totally responsible people with their animals normally I don't know what the deal is with this guy. He was the last dog addition and I think they just got overwhelmed with animals. Not that this makes it okay to not neuter him or to give him up for reasons that could be fixed by neutering I am just saying.

By saying he has never been bred I mean he has never fathered a litter of puppies. He came from probably some BYB and even though the owners never neutered him, they have a huge fenced in yard and the dog is never off leash, he has never escaped and they have never intentionally bred him.

On another note, I have been overwhelmed with responses on petfinder and craigslist to the ad I posted. I think I found a great person down in Cincinnatti. She rescues dogs normally and works with a vet clinic and she notices her dog tends to get attached to teh foster dogs and decided to get a buddy for her dog. She has always wanted a Min Pin and liked the sound and pictures of Cody.

She is a bit far from me though. But next time my parents go down there to visit my sister I will tag along I think.

The other possible home is a single male home owner who has a few rescue dogs already and is looking for another. Out of the dozens of responses I got, only about three did I actually like. I am so so picky. If someone replies like "how much do you want for him?" or "can you email a picture?" and doesn't mention a single thing about themself I usually tell them sorry he isn't available. First impressions are everything to me in this case. But ya, so thats that, I hope I can find him the perfect new home.

!!

That is so good to know. First impressions go along way in the Rescue business, I agree..Also, are you asking for a fee to deter impulse or less than responsible buyers (and then you can use this to neuter him as well)?

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I am placing him with a woman who lives just about 15 minutes from me. She works with a Min Pin rescue but Cody is going to be one she keeps. She showed me a lot of pictures of her 3, the one likes to wear little sweaters and everything. They have a little dog door out to the fenced in backyard. So he will have 3 buddies of his size to play with and then she also has 2 old golden retreivers, but Cody is used to big huge dogs so I know he will be fine. She is going to neuter him through the rescue she works and fosters for. She is going to contact me as soon as she has a neutering date and then fax or email me the paperwork that says she did it. She also said she can ask the vet to call me or I can call the vet to confirm everything. I am also taking Cody to her house to meet her dogs and check everything out.
