You mean personality, looks, etc.? You can tell a bit on personality, but it can change. Ling was very demanding as a kitten (4-5 weeks old) and still is. In my litter of Russian Blues, I kept a male for showing - named him Cassanova from the time he was born - he fit his name from the very beginning always wanting to be picked up and held - he was truely a lover.

Can you be more specific?

I think a kitten's personality develops & changes over time as they grow to adults.

Thats very true - Harley sure changed! He used to be a loving little kitty, but as he grew, he grew up into a more independant cat

A lot of it may depend on your interaction with her. When I adopted one from the spca, he was very sick, and I would cuddle him and rub my check over the top of his head, kind of head butt him. Now he is almost two and when he wants love he climbs on my lap and rubs his head against my cheek. I also taught him no hard biting of me, and he is brave and friendly with strangers. Another Kitten that I did not have as much human intervention with because I was fostering him, his mother and three siblings, is not quite as receptive to human touch, but he is getting better. I think this is because he spent his formative months with his mom and sisters and was not dependent on me for comfort. he is a shy guy too, but he is coming around. He just turned a year old.

Yes i do mean personality sorry for not clarifying that!
We try to handle her, and cuddle her and pet her because we want to be able to do these things as she becomes older, but I was just wondering if there are things we can do, or signs we can look for on what type of personality (cuddly, indepent etc..) she will have.
Thanks,

If can definitely change! I'll give you my two as an example.

I found Lucky when she was 4 weeks old, she had the biggest voice in the smallest package. She would tear around, climb your legs but NEVER wanted to be cuddled (too much to see and do). Fast forward 2 years - Lucky is the ultimate diva, princess and all around cuddler. If you make a lap...it must mean she is to lie on it. She didn't really start this till she was about 6 months old.

And Rambo - I picked him out at the shelter at 8 weeks old. He was a little ****-disturber to all his brothers and sisters, starting fights, harassing them when they wanted to sleep. I thought he would be perfect to handle diva Lucky...Brought him home...turned into the ultimate love-bug and is now nick-named Deuce Bigalo Male Gigalo as he LOVES the girls.....and he will NOT fight. He cries if Lucky tries to fight with him and comes to hide with his meowmy and suckles on my shirt (like he's sucking his thumb). This all didn't come out till he was about 5 months old.

Good luck with your little one..i'm sure you love whatever kind of kitty she becomes
