Hi everyone. Earlier in the summer I picked up 2 kittens on my property (neighbor has cat population on her property), a male, and a female (who had an infection and lost her one eye). The female absolutely refuses to use the box. Everytime she goes to the bathroom she goes right next to the catbox, even if I put her in it when i see she needs to use it, she jumps out. Is there anyway to reverse this learned behavior? Its ruining my floor!

Have you tried a different (softer?) kind of litter, or tried using two boxes? Many cats don't like to share a box with other cats, or don't like to use one box for everything.

We have other cats, so we originally had the kittens use their own box, which the male did, the female never seemed to pick it up. we have 2 litterboxes now, which are cleaned daily. I dont think this is the problem, because there have been days when the litterbox wasnt quite as clean as it should be, and the other cats refused to use it. it is reguarly cleaned though, on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day.

I would try confining the female in a bathroom with the litterbox.Do this for a couple of days to re-teach her to go potty in the litter box.
She may be getting ambushed when she goes into the litter box by the other cats and it scared her.
